  1. here, if we get a little ice on the roads pepole call in. No one really knows how to drive in TX. Well except people that move here from other states that are use to weather conditions of ice /sleet/snow/rain. It's quite pathetic. if it drizzles people have numerous wrecks on the freeway and such.

THIS. i never understood why they freak out so much. texas has pretty ridiculously unpredictable weather 90% of the time. we famously drop 40 degrees in one day on the reg, raining through the sunshine, instant downpour at the drop of a hat.

don't get me started on houston freeways... -_- OH SHIT DRIZZLE EVERYONE FREAK THE FUCK OUT!!! OH FUCK AN EXIT EVERYONE PISS THEMSELVES!!!

  2. *squee!!!* everyone is probably freaking out on the roads right now!!! i can't believe it's still snowing...i took this pic a couple hours ago from my apt window :)

oh and it snowed in houston around this time last year...dec 14 i think. this is way more than last time though!

to all the snowy state people, you are probably lol'ing at our excitement over a semi-sticking 1/4 but THIS IS EPIC BUSINESS!

  3. that they can't sleep for more than 2 hours a day and can't keep any food down? I've slept 4 hours in the last 48 hours and haven't eaten in about 28 hours. Last thing I ate came right back up. Maybe I'm just sick? Is there a doctor in the house? Do I have the swine flu?

    THE SWINE!!!!

lol but no man i was put on anti anxiety meds like 6 years ago and this happens to me occasionally. my insomnia is pretty bad...even on a good day I can't get more than 5 hours of sleep and i regularly stay up for 24 hours if not more. sometimes I have trouble keeping food down or even thinking about eating can make me want to vom.

you could actually have a flu of some kind though...just throwing it out there ;)

  4. i saw a tutorial a few days ago and the chick used a heavy duty box cutter...she just did several controlled strokes on it and it came out great...no sanding that i noticed. and i plan to try making one for a friend. i'm going to take off the binding and replace it with new material...i think they sell it at craft stores. then that should make the original cover easy enough to get off and use the vinyl as the new front cover. then hit it hard with the glue gun. idk if this will work its all in theory. i'm going to hit half priced books and get a shit lot of old crappy 7"s and practice :)

or if i'm feeling brave, this 12"...it's a monster. is there anyone you knew who didn't have this record??

  5. I'm kind of in the same boat so I'd love to hear the advice too :) I just threw down 200 in two weeks on my first turntable and 12 records. I'm going to try and stick with my "absolute favorite" bands/albums first and then try newer things. I probably wouldn't buy vinyl for a band I hadn't listened to at all before...but I only say that now. This addiction is a dangerous mistress...

I'm in the same position as you. Just getting into vinyl, it'd be really easy for me to all of a sudden drop a ton of cash on records that I already own in some form or another (digital / CD), so I'm having to find some restraint.

yeah i'm trying really hard not to go balls to the wall but i jump into everything headfirst. just the experience of listening to my favorites on vinyl is enough to put me under a bridge in 6 months ;D
