It's like if Rivers Cuomo and Beck both got the same prompt to make a party/fun album and one of them went and put together this fun collage of classic pop melodies and sounds and the other plastered a few semi-interesting vocal melodies over thin, undercooked songs. It feels in the same world but opposite ends on the spectrum of quality.

I see PD humourously, so I can pretend to be cool and like it in an ironic hipster kind of way. I think it's totally terrible in a great way.

Beck well I've only listened to Colors, and I felt like it should go back to the late 80s where it belongs :|

  2. I was a VMP member from June through August and Demon Days was not available to swap or buy that I recall. I swapped both July and August and it wasn't an option. August I even listened to multiple things I wouldn't normally to pick something to swap, so I'm sure I would have considered it if it was there. I guess it could have been available more recently if they *found* more copies?

Does anyone know of any place, other than discogs, where you can look up pressing info? Discogs doesn't have everything and I guess I'm the 1 out of 10 that can't find pressing info there. I entered in Google and it comes up with Discogs, surprise surprise. I can find the catalog number but none of the etchings on the dead wax match. I reached out to a guy who runs a vinyl podcast and he recommended to check out Vinyl Hoarders United but they seem to be non-existent anymore.

Post it in this thread, someone here might have info or be able to find info. What information are you wanting about the release? When and where it was pressed or something different?

Dead Format sometimes has things discogs doesn't. Steve Hoffman forum is good too.

  4. Thank you both! Definitely some I haven't heard of there mameeshkamowskwoz, I will be checking those out.

I have about 5 or 6 LPs from the Ventures I inherited, love them. I should replace a couple though as they seem to have been used as skimboards at some point. I had forgot about Man or Astroman, I remember listening to them in middle school.

I know there's a blue swirl variant, but this one looks more purple to me. Is the color showing in the photo how it actually looks, or is it just like that because of the camera?

    Here's the swirl: http://lazylabradorrecords.com/mewithoutyou-brother-sister-vinyl-lp-blue-swirl/

The photo is a good representation of how it looks in person. The pattern is similar to that blue, but it's definitely purple.

Hey guys posting on here for the first time after doing a bunch of research on the sites suggested I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether this would be worth anything or where I may be able to find out more information? Its Mary Poppins soundtrack with the original cast but it has asian writing on it and the Vinyl is transparent red. Cheers

    Is it this https://www.discogs.com/Various-Walt-Disney-Presents-Mary-Poppins-Original-Soundtrack-Recording/release/5232344 ?

There's another Taiwan release of it on Discogs as well but it looks more orange.

I just received this copy of mewithoutYou's Brother, Sister I bought through Discogs. It was sold as a Red/Christmas variant "but looks dark purple." I didn't expect it to be the Christmas red, the price was really good I was going to buy it regardless of color. Now I'm just curious was pressing/color is really is. There are definitely some variants missing from Discogs and ones that are there don't all have photos, I don't think any have runouts given. A google search led me to believe there was a blue and a red pressed last year, does anyone know about that? This could be a transition between blue and red, right? Any other ideas?

SRC has been the worst buying experience I have ever had purchasing music before, in my entire life.  I purchased 3 exclusives, one being a pre-order, the other two are in stock, the original street date for beautiful letdown has come and gone, it has been marked backordered multiple times on their site over the last three weeks, and changed back to pre-order to released on the 24th.  Needless to say my order has still yet to ship.  I have created tickets and one of their customer service people promised to split the order for me to ship the other two titles out, yet that never happened and went unaddressed through multiple exchanges of tickets.  The phone number on their site is never answered via a customer service person or even at their retail store.  I have never received an email update on my order, being delayed, changed or otherwise.  I wanted the gin blossoms from them but refuse to order based off this experience.   Currently traveling and came across it at a shop, just couldn't pull the trigger based off this experience.  Just bad, I have no idea how they stay afloat ignoring customers.

SRC is by far the worst customer service experience I've had in many years. There are 4 employees (online and both retail stores combined) including the manager (owner?) who is never there but controls everything the people who are there do. The customer service number is a joke. We got someone to contact us by calling the Canadian retail location and sending messages Morse code. They had sent me a damaged item, made me send them different photos twice. The lone online customer service worker is also the one employee at the US store and took days to answer each email. When they decided they would bless me with a replacement, the album was out of stock but they didn't ask or offer credit or a refund, they just said it would ship as soon as they got more with no estimate of when. I asked for a refund. Then she started answering emails very quickly! We already shipped your replacement, when all they had done was made a label. Two days later a package actually shipped, "Oh look we just got one copy in!" Wait, I thought the story was you already shipped it? Funny how it was the same day my returned copy made it there (seriously).

Sometime during the lying about shipping, I went ahead and filed a PayPal claim WHICH I LOST because the manager lied in his reply to the claim and used the original tracking number to prove they had shipped me something and paypal hadn't connected the emails I forwarded them with the claim. Then I had to appeal the ruling while the customer service is still telling me that this is a misunderstanding and she'll talk to her manager about a refund. Finally, I won the appeal and I will NEVER deal with them again. This took a month and a half BTW.

If I want an exclusive they have, I'll get it second hand, even if I end up paying more. It's worth it not to deal with them and to not give them any profit.
