  1. Some great lists on here.  Many more eclectic than mine but I am what I am....I've just spun these more than others in my 20 yrs. of collecting.  Off the top of my head:

    Bad Religion-Generator

    Dillinger Four-Midwestern Songs

    Lawrence Arms-Greatest Story

    Face to Face-Self Titled

Hot Water Music-A Flight and A Crash

    Megadeth-Rust in Peace

    Bob Dylan-MTV Unplugged

    Modern Life is War-Witness

Red City Radio-Dangers of Standing Still

    Fugazi-Repeater

  2. I've been going to BR shows since 1993 and have met everyone in the band.  If you see enough shows, your bound to run into some of them at the merch table, outside the venue or walking around the crowd.  I've met Graffin a few times and he was surprisingly friendly each time.  I had always heard he can be a little stand offish but I've never experienced that.  Jay Bentley is by far the most friendly.  If you can find him, chat him up and snap a quick photo with him then let him be.  Much better than having their autographs imo.

  3. My old band played with these guys and Much the Same several years ago. Both bands were great. Tons of energy for a show during the middle of the week in late fall in Iowa. Man I miss those days....

NO SHIT - Much The Same played the Staring Back show I saw. What was your bands name? Did you guys ever come to Chicago?

Never played Chicago. We were from Iowa and just got lucky enough to play that show. It was tons of fun. My band was called Kagero. We recorded an EP but never ended up releasing anything before we broke up.

  4. Fuck yeah. I bought that CD at one of their shows.

I still listen to that record daily! Other than lifetime they were playing melodic hardcore/pop punk that paved the way for bands like transit and syg. They would have fit in perfectly now

  5. i haven't heard this yet, but that's the gist of what I've been hearing which is why I hadn't bothered picking it up

You should definitely pick it up man. I think it is probably the closest they have come to a perfect Bad Religion album. Take out 1-2 songs and it is terrific. It has a great flow to it and some of the catchiest melodies they have written so far. Of course, I've been a huge BR fan since 1991 so I'm a little biased. For a band of mid 40 year olds, they really bring game.

  6. I have a pair of beats by dre solo. they are without a doubt expensive, but i managed to snag them on a crazy sale last holiday season combined with some gift cards. you are of course paying for the name, but they sound unreal.

I looked at these too but haven't heard them yet. I was wondering if they were built for listening to stuff with extra deep low end? I'm not looking for extra bass in the mix necessarily. But I will check them out.

  7. Just checked out that Smodcast. Great stuff. Sound Scene Revolution has some great bands on there but most interviews are painful to listen to (Sorry Rich). I've been meaning to check out Rocket Fuel but haven't yet.

I'm into ufo's, ghosts, crptozoology, etc.. so I also really like paranormal podcast and dreamland podcast.
