That indeed is pretty awesome. Sounds like it's time to renew the ps+ subscription!

This is going to be my first souls game. So how does the online part blend in with the single player? Is it gonna be any sort of help playing online for beating the game offline?
-
This has got to be a drive test pressingAbout the $400 package. The person who send it has started an investigation with USPS. So let's see how it turns out.
There's one copy in it that I'll never find again.
-
Looks like the times of amazingly cheap records bought from amazon.com are over for now...
-
got the record in today. very basic packaging, heavyweight record, polysleeve. the record sounds great... im almost done with side b and only had just a tiny bit of noise during one moment. the sound is clear and deep.

If I don't react on the letter, the parcel is returned to the sender. Noone at the customs authority tries to figure out the value by themselves.
they to try to figure the value out if you go to the office and dont provide anything ive once had a lady standing next to me who wanted to pick up a record for her son. it was part of a subscription or something so she had no invoice or anything. the customs people looked the record up on ebay where it was up for some insane amount and they were just like "oh well, thats the value then!"
-
The second part about eBay, I actually don't understand. I thought, their customs calculation is based on the total cost (auction price + shipping), which is the correct way. Isn't it?
if theres no invoice in the package and you cant/dont provide any info on that the customs offices usually try to find out the value using ebay/amazon/...

thanks for the heads up! hydeout posted both singles on facebook yesterday but luv(sic) was sold out on the english page. i probably wouldnt have checked it again without this thread, haha.
-
Ah alright! Maybe I just got lucky with my copy, hahaI dont have the 2LP version because the second LP with the remixes seemed pointless. The 1LP indeed sounds very good (alright, perfect), but the surface noise on the quieter parts is just too much at times.
-
I have read that the recent Deutsche Grammophon records have a lot of surface noise. I have Recomposed Four Seasons by Richter, two copies, ordered from different places, and after cleaning with Okki Nokki the surface noise is still there. Hopefully this reissue is better.
Do you have the double lp? I bought the single one some time ago and it actually sounds pretty good. Been debating getting the double lp also, but if it's noisy I might skip it

damn it, really wanted to get that signed blue/magenta Night Drive... i know it's highly unlikely but there's no kind soul who wants to part with theirs?
-
Ha, I also got one with almost every order I put in so far.I've received so many copies of After Dark 2 on CD from them that I started giving them out to people who come over to my place.
The great thing about the bunch of posters wasn't only that they were there. They also protected the records from sliding around on their way to Germany - no seam splits!
-
They've been sending out invites pretty often in the last couple of weeks. If I happen to get a few again I'll hit you guys up. Already had three invites expire because I simply forgot about them.

Funny thing is: USPS parcels are also delivered from DHL in Germany (without this additional service).
Shipping was $33, I habe no idea how they've calculated that amount in the customs declaration. The full commercial invoice from DW, however, was included.
from my experience these "services" are mostly included in the courier services. usps packages are being delivered by the "normal" DHL people in germany, not by their express couriers. at least that was always the case for me so far.
in that case definitely try to get somebody on the phone to explain to you how that high value comes together and send them over a copy of the invoice again.
-
I've had similar experiences with importing records using UPS and FedEx. Had a long discussion with both companies because they also charged me a fee of about 10€ for their "service" (same case as with DHL).
In Germany no other company than Deutsche Post is allowed to do the customs process without your consent and charge your for that by law. Based on that I've received the service charge back from both companies (had this happen to me three times already).
I'm not sure what to do in your case though since DHL is part of Deutsche Post.
Was there a full invoice included in the package? I know that the local customs offices just do a quick research about the items' values if you can't provide a proper invoice. That research mostly involves just searching for listings on eBay. I can imagine that's how they get that insanely high value.

I'd also be down for that variant without the credits on the back!

are those amiibos somehow region locked? im not sure if its worth it price-wise but all amiibos seem to be available on the german amazon: http://www.amazon.de/Nintendo-1066466-amiibo-Smash-Mario/dp/B00N8PBGV6
most are even cheaper in japan: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language/product/B00O9GPEDO/ref=dp_change_lang?ie=UTF8&language=en_JP

That's not bad. But aren't there fees associated with sending a product overseas? Aside from shipping? I was going to sell an Apogee Duet 2 to a guy somewhere in Europe (not thru ebay, but the gearslutz forum), and there would have been an extra charge of around $60-$120 for him to receive it once I shipped it (some sort of customs charge, import duty, etc).
I don't understand what all is involved in overseas shipping, so maybe I'm making this out to be more difficult than it is. I guess I'm just spooked I'll get hit with some ridiculous fee after the fact.
ah, i think it's a bit easier than you think
customs fees depend on the country. here in germany we can get charged with additional 19% for packages that have a value of more than 22€ and come from outside the EU (only if the package gets stuck in customs...). ive no idea how the regulations are in the us but i think so far i've never heard from somebody in the us that had to pay any customs fees.
these costs are nothing what a seller could estimate or really affect (unless the lesser just puts a smaller value on the invoice or so). if id send you a record there wouldnt be any invoice inside the package. if i actually should have to fill out a customs form and put it on the package i could always mark it as "gift" and it will somehow pass through customs.
can somebody with a bit more knowledge chime in here?

Vic, are you in Canada? Is it available there? I'm in Minnesota, and could paypal you if it isn't a PitA.
Yarostino, do you know the cost to export a record to the US from Germany?
I see there's a few on discogs, but they're all over seas as well.
It's strange. I was thinking about this about this album a few weeks ago, and wondered if it was ever put out on vinyl. Now it has popped up almost from out of nowhere, but seems like it's juuust out of reach. (or maybe I'm not very resourceful :¬P)
if by export you mean shipping costs then i do
3,45 € for packages <500g
7,00 € for packages <1000kg
a little over 2€ for tracking

Yes, if you'd be willing to help, I'd be very grateful. I'll have cash on Tuesday, so let me know what I'd need to do.
If it doesn't work out, no worries. I don't want it to be a burden at all.
well, there are two options: i could try to guide you through the ordering process (but that will probably not help a lot since it looks to be problem with their system? ...or has any overseas buyer made a successful purchase there yet?) or i could get the record for you and ship it over. it'll be kinda expensive though: record price + shipping to me (4/5 €) + shipping to you (7 €) + paypal fees
-
in case any of you need some help with ordering it from germany i could see what i can do. i think people have been ordering from hhv internationally before so it should be possible somehow?
i also received my copy from hhv today. a/b clear and c/d creamy white. sounds pretty good, like most of the other bootlegs that came out in the last couple of months. so its definitely worth the price

i got the lp today. listened to it once so far. it sounds pretty great, very bass-heavy. ive only listened a couple of times to the first mix so i dont wanna compare the first and the new one too much but i feel like this new one sounds quite different. a little faster at times, a little heavier overall.
the record itself is a pretty simple package... but it does it's job printed inner sleeve (which arrived kinda bent already), heavy black vinyl.
