  1. i personally think it would be cool to see a lot of the mid to late 90's traditional 3rd wave ska pressed. i lot of that stuff never saw the light of day on vinyl. easy big fella, skavoovie and the epitones, the skalars, the siren six. i'm sure none of that would ever get any votes on this board, but it's what i'd like to see.

other than that, i'd love to see things like Helmet "Betty", Quicksand "Manic Compression", Far "Water & Solutions", Deftones "Around the Fur" get issued or re-issued. these are some very cool late 90's melodic "hardcore" records that, while all released on majors and would be tough to get licensing from, are all classics in their own right.

it's hard to think of any classics from when i grew up that haven't already been pressed on vinyl at least once.

  2. That's true, and being only $60 it could be far worse. I've got some money I'd like to put towards this. Buying vinyl is one of the few things I feel no guilt about. However, I always thought buying the rights to the music was more expensive, but I never really knew. Good to hear it's not too pricey and it would be possible. I just wanna see the following:

    Attack in Black - Marriage

A Wilhelm Scream - Career Suicide

Thursday - A City By the Light Divided

If those three got pressed, it'd be well worth my $60.

these records would be awesome. but considering dine alone has pressed a few of their releases on vinyl, i would assume that if there is enough interest, they would press it themselves. same goes for wilhelm. thursday could be tricky considering that record was on a major label.

i think the whole idea is to pick albums that are not neccessarily old, but classics. albums that never, and would never get treatment on vinyl, if it wasn't for this project.

  3. i ordered early and got black. boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

no shrink wrap. no nothing. and a ripped jacket at the edge. double boo.

I got black as well, and I am very happy with it. I can't believe mine came cross country and was MINT when I got it. Vinyl is a nice heavier weight and the packaging is very nice. Listened to it last night and it sounds fantastic. Nice lp package + free mp3 = $16 well spent

yeah. i guess you're right. the black isn't so bad. i'm glad it's of a nice weight. and the packaging is pretty awesome. i'm just bummed that my insert was ripped when i got it. although, that definatley not the first time that's happened. record sounds pretty rad though.

  4. simple economics...

you can tour in a van playing to 100 kids a night, which im sure is a lot less fun at their age, than it was 15 years ago. or you can play to sold out crowds everynight hocking $20 b-sides collections on 3,000 colors of vinyl.. and get PAID.

i mean which would you choose?

as much as that sounds like it would be an easy thing to choose. the luster of their "return" can only last so long before it runs out of steam. they need to keep it simple. make money off of these shows only when it is right to do so. i would be perfectly ok with a combination of the draft, chuck and hwm all going at the same time. but these hwm shows are so special right now, i think one off shows is the perfect way to do it.

  5. fucking love the game. i've been playing the sport since i was 5. played in high school, played in college. coached high school. an i still play competive indoor and outdoor today. even if it is getting harder and harder to get out of bed every morning.

being from st. louis, soccer is in my blood. st. louis is the true soccer capital of the united states. and if you don't believe me, pick up a copy of "the game of their lives". or go to the st. louis soccer park in late november, or the number of national championships by st. louis club teams each and every year.

philly may have gotten the most recent MLS expansion team, but word is, that as early as april, the MLS is going to finally award this city what it deserves. a professional soccer team.

    ARSENAL TILL I DIE.

  6. the salvador for jansen trade between the blues and the devils makes no sense to me, other than the blues knew that they wouldn't be able to resign salvador next year, and figured they had to get something for him while they could. but cam jansen? sure, he's got local ties to st. louis, but he hasn't played at all this year, and people are calling him a "borderline" nhl'er.

i would have rather seen them trade barret jackman (who is a -12) this year and resign salvs, than trade their best defenseman instead of giving someone who has been a huge underachiever since he paired with al macinnis. 4 years at $14 plus million? come one.

at least we have a ton of depth on D. the blues are still heading in the right direction, i just don't understand the logic in this trade.
