  1. Also, what are the B-sides on that STF 12" single? Are there any exclusive songs?

    1. Leaders And Followers

    2. Mediocrity

They were both exclusive/unreleased at the time but I think they since came out on some CD, it might have been that "bonus" disc with the B/sides and maybe soemthing else that I can't think of (one of the Sympathy singles' b/sides maybe?)

  2. Right, it's kind of hard to tell from that picture I guess but what I did was use quarter strip pvc for the lip, so they don't slip off and I put like a .5"x.5" balsa (or something) wood divider rails between the rows to keep them neat. It all worked out surprisingly well and wasn't that difficult to do. I mean I need to put my hand at the front obviously, when flipping through things so they don't just fall off but it's otherwise fine; they don't slip or anything, easy to get to, space friendly etc.

Thanks for all the info, I'll definitely keep all this in mind when setting up my 7" situation.

    Also, welcome to the board!

Thanks banned.. I can try to take some better pictures of how I did the rails and stuff if you care, I think I made an extra shelf I didn't even end up using. I should have mentioned I just used "wood nails" industrial glue to glue the pvc and wood strips to the particle board shelf. I made those more than 5 years ago and they've been fine ever since.

  3. I really like that 7" set up too. It looks like a regular book shelf with some little strips of wood across the front of each one...nice!

More in boxes in various rooms of the house but more difficult to get to and less interesting to look at in closed boxes.

Beautiful set up, right there. If those are the LP racks that I'm thinking of, they are really expensive. I really dig that 7" storage area as well. Did you make those shelves yourself or did you find one set up like that?

The LP racks were expensive yeah, they're nice and all but not really worth whatever it was I probably paid for them. I'd never seen or heard of (and perhaps it didn't even exist yet) and Expedit at that time or I'd have certainly gone with a couple of those.

I made the 7" shelves myself, they're just some of those particle board things you can get at like home depot and I hacked together the lips and divider rails and shit, worked out pretty well.

How often do you look through the 7" at the top? They seem really high to flip through. Overall that's a badass set up! Thumbs up for the Fear poster too!

Yeah that's an issue but honestly I've listened to all that shit a million times over the years and don't need to get at them a whole lot any more. You can kind of see the top of a drummer stool there in front of the CDs, I just use that to stand on when I want something from the top shelf and it isn't a problem.

Yeah that Fear poster is rad, most of the ones I've ever seen came folded so I stuck that one in a frame.

  6. No it doesnt come with an insert, nor did the orginal copies came with an insert.

That your Suffer insert is folded sucks, stuff like that happens, fold it back and deal with it.

This is not directed to you, but some people take it to far and are way to anal about their records. Nothing wrong with taking good care of your records but there is a limit and it is being crossed way to many times on this board.

I'm glad you're here to set the limits of appropriate behavior. Seriously, thanks.

    hahah

  7. The original did indeed come with a printed innersleeve - at least the white version.

Really? I've never seen it can you share a picture if you have it (I'm just curious what it looks like.) I have that German white one but mine didn't come with an insert either, unless you're talking about the 10"x10" tour sticker they stuffed into some of those, which I do have in mine (but don't really consider it a standard insert - think it was more something special they did with like 3 or 4 tour dates on it for stores to put up in their windows.)

  8. All orders up until yesterday have been shipped. Sorry for the delay, they look great and will be well worth the wait! If you didn't get an e-mail confirmation, please e-mail me: [email protected]

Is there some secret to getting you to respond to emails, beyond friendly inquiries for critical order corrections? $45 bucks is a bit pricy for two albums so I'd be real stoked to see that I get them if you know what I mean.

  9. You can use any turntable to record mp3s. You just need to buy an RCA to USB adapter (under $30) and download the software for free (there are ton of choices from a bunch of different sites). I would highly recommend saving for a Pro-Ject Debut III. I recently got one and am blown away by how good it sounds.

Yah agree. After 15 years of digitizing wax through expensive sound cards and break-out boxes I finally bit it and bought the Pro-Ject. Only had time to rip one single so far but it sounded great! The Insound discount was too good to pass up..

  10. Gotta agree here, seems like an incredible waste to hide the auctions the way they do; wouldn't it allow for a lot more visibility if they were all browsable on like, say the main auction page? Who the fuck wants to click every person's profile page and see if they may or may not have some auctions for sale and whether or not they're even something you're interested in at that. Rethink this guys, please.

    * I do realize their main objective isn't giving away free shit and they want to make some money but if you're going to offer something cool like this don't do it half-assed, make it cool so people want to come back and use it, and perhaps pay you for some of your other services because you do the free ones so well.

  11. I've been messing around with it and a few others for a couple of weeks, trying to decide which one to use and I do like the back-end system they have for handling trades. It's all internal (unless you choose otherwise,) archives the communications and has an ebay-like feedback system. There are some additional features I'd like to see and hopefully they'll continue to develop on this part of it.

    Make some trades!

  12. I am going to have to order a regular copy if the Sharp Objects 7", as the mail order version is stapled and stickered shut haha.

With the stickers, I usually carefully peel it to open up the bag and then put tape on the sticky side so it doesn't stick anymore. That way you don't have to peel it every time you want to hear the record.

I'm not sure what to do with the staples, but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

On this one you can un-staple the side and you don't have to mess with the sticker
