  1. James is pretty damn close on the pressing info, but technically a liar. Ha! Still need to count and confirm, but the numbers should be 51/51/151/359 if anyone really cares.

Should be on sale in our store tomorrow, Saturday at the latest. Of course Interpunk, Robotic, Mylene Sheath and whatever stores pick them up from our distributor will have them as well.

NORTH LPs will go into press fairly soon, should have in June, maybe early July. In the mean time will have the ADAI LP and Rosetta/Restorations 12" in the interim.

James: Seattle and Richmond this year, make it happen.

  2. Oh man, sorry we were a little late with this last round of mail order. Glad Dan got back to you. If you are ever in RVA and want to check out the ILC warehouse let us know.

WYW vinyl, actually think we might make this next. Put it out in July as a sort of celebration of two years since we put it out.

Steven, I already marked you down for one of those limited Giants! Thanks to everyone else who asked us to hold one, just about all spoken for now!

Really think we might do New Hands on vinyl soon-ish too. So awesome how well the CD is selling, one of my favorite records we have done!

  3. The NORTH LP is actually not too far away. Gotta knock out these next few things and actually thinking about doing What You Were next.

On the Giants LP, turns out we are not going to put the screen printed versions online. We set a about 40 aside, mostly for friends, but if you want one just shoot us an email soon-ish and we can probably hook you up. First come first serve on those.

Glad you like that Eagle Scout, Jordan! The feedback on it so far is amazing!

  4. Looks like #4 is good to go a little sooner than expected. In late Spring we will be releasing a split LP + digital download from Rosetta and Restorations. If you don't know the mighty Rosetta, you are missing out. Restorations are a relatively new band from the philly area with a bit of a HWM/Latterman feel. Might seem like an odd split, but trust me, it will rule.

  5. If any one around here is a fan of stuff we do, you rule. Got quite a few new releases coming up if you have any interest in reading this (thanks to those that do!).

    1. Eagle Scout - New Hands CD - No word yet on the vinyl, but we are certainly thinking about it. People seem to be into the Piebald, Cursive, Get Up Kids comparisons. The record was recorded with Matt Goldman and turned out great I think. It is streaming at absolutepunk.net if you have a profile there.

    2. Giants - Old Stories LP - Should be shipping from the plant in a week, two tops. Probably toss up a pre-order this week. Any one who does pre-order will be entered into a "contest" to win the rest of their (in print) discography too (They, they Undeserving LP and CD + Old Stories CD). Going to have a VERY limited screen printed version too with different art. Only available from the band at shows and by request.

    3. Adai - Felo De Se LP+CD - These boys just recorded a stellar EP with Matt Talbott of the legendary HUM. This thing is going to look amazing too. Gatefold, one-sided LP with art from Seldon Hunt and Andrew Weiss. Should have it in April. If you are not familiar with them, go check out the Space for some jams from their old EP ...I Carry on Radar.New songs will surface soon.

    4. A split 12" we hope to finalize and spread the word about in a week or so. This split will be from two of Phillys finest, and two bands you probably would not expect to see a split from. This one is looking good.

So many other things in the works too. This year is going to be a fun (and expensive) one for Cavity. New website which is cool too I guess? www.cavityrecords.com

  6. Cool to see a couple people are excited for the Giants - Old Stories LP. For those interested, got tests this week and they sound great. LPs should be in sometime in February.

Also have a few other vinyl releases on Cavity in the works for late Spring and early summer. Recently became friends with one of my favorite bands of the last 15-20 years. Talking about doing some crucial reissues and maybe some new stuff. Beyond stoked if all works out.

And all those Robo releases are going to rule. Best label ever run by the best dude ever.

  7. Hey guys, been a while since I posted here, but figured I would post something about this cool new thing a bunch of people and myself have the chance to be involved with. Here is a little press release thingy for the ILC:

We are overwhelmed with joy that at long last we may officially announce the creation of the Independent Label Collective. The ILC is a collaborative effort between a number of independent music's greatest labels and musicians that aims to combine resources and experience to deliver new and DIY-minded solutions to distribution, merchandising, marketing, licensing and PR, with sights set high for greater market expansion in the future.

With great legendary labels like Asian Man Records, Sympathy for the Record Industry, Gravity, and Second Nature Recordings alongside up and coming labels like Gilead Media, Red Scare, Cavity Records, Init Records & The Mylene Sheath, we feel the possibilities will be endless.

The ILC was conceived early in 2009 by a small handful of individuals whom felt as though the music industry needed a shot in the arm, that business as usual wasn't working, that labels & artists needed to take control of their future. After months of hard work and preparation we are pleased to make this idea a reality.

Be certain to keep an eye out for upcoming releases from Ben Weasel, Austin Lucas, The Bouncing Souls, Sakes Alive!!, Gifts from Enola, Thou, Krallice, Bomb the Music Industry & many many more. Anyone interested in working with, or being involved in the ILC can email us at [email protected].
