They recorded this whole album on an analog 4 track recorder.  It was an intentional choice - they have a complete studio at their disposal, but did not feel it was the right sound for this project.  This record sounds exactly the way they intended - in fact, a great deal of effort went into creating the sound you hear

the inherently shitty speaker aside, you probably won't find a cheaper way to rip your vinyl to a computer. or will you? i'm never very up to date on technology or current events or music or the day of the week or anything...

How the hell do small labels get their releases to distros over there? Am I missing out on some cheap shipping option? Shit costs a million dollars. I might as well fly to Germany and hand deliver 'em myself.

I recently sold my copy of Pavement "Slay Tracks" on Ebay, and just got an email from the buyer saying he wants to return it because he thinks its possibly a bootleg. Anyone know if there is a bootleg version of this record out there?

I googled it, and came up with one discussion board thread that was less than convincing. I would expect that a bootlegged edition of such a sought after record would generate a lot of internet buzz....
