They recorded this whole album on an analog 4 track recorder. It was an intentional choice - they have a complete studio at their disposal, but did not feel it was the right sound for this project. This record sounds exactly the way they intended - in fact, a great deal of effort went into creating the sound you hear

I recently sold my copy of Pavement "Slay Tracks" on Ebay, and just got an email from the buyer saying he wants to return it because he thinks its possibly a bootleg. Anyone know if there is a bootleg version of this record out there? I googled it, and came up with one discussion board thread that was less than convincing. I would expect that a bootlegged edition of such a sought after record would generate a lot of internet buzz....
