  1. im 21 and like this band. jeezuz christ this is old now. reminds me of the old days when i used to thread fight people all the time. its pointless.
  2. oooh big fall of troy fan here lol. though i know thomas cant sing for shit haha. he is damn good at guitar though. oh well, im over all this now. i still like ink, and they have a lot of my respect for doing what they do. i'll admit, it is a tad immature to have to defend them, but they do have good reason to be upset. i wonder why scott listened to the songs on their myspace rather than the cd he was sent though. and if u look at scotts bands on his page, there is a lot of bands with a similar type of sound as INK. dissapointed with the review, but its whatever, they're still good.
  3. when they write a hit like this, get back to me http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=178150 alas, the computer im on is being a dbag and not wanting to DL flash ghey
  4. Wahh :-[ You dont like like my band because we dont sing. Hahaha! tbh, screaming is easy. its 10x easier to write a song with nothing but screams than it is to write a good set of lyrics with a nice hook and sound. i scream and sing, and i do both pretty well. its nice to sometimes understand the words without needing a liner. and also, i dont like a lot of bands heavy on screams because when you pop in the cd, its hard to tell when one song ends and the other begins. not knocking u guys though, just so long as your doing what you do. damn douchebag =] hah, now everyones happy
  5. but they're #1 on purevolume! #1 on smartpunk! they have 55,000 fans! they should be drawing hoards of angst teenage kids like all of you! oh thats right, NONE OF THOSE THINGS MEAN SHIT. i thought i told you to form a coherent point. yes, they have all of those things. What they don't have is a manager, label or promo team. more than likely because they choose not to. not every show is going to be packed. btw, they played warped as well, so its not like they dont have the potential to draw a crowd. here right next to ft hood tx, their genre is paticularly well recieved, so they drew a crowd of about 80 people. they played in arlington and drew a much bigger crowd.
  6. HAHA I KNOW!!!!! I made a crack at that too its a self managed and self promoted tour. not ever single show will have large numbers. Though i do agree, they could have used a much better video lol.
  7. all the bullshit that is popular now is the ONLY REASON why they are playing the music they are! They just want to be that "bullshit" music too! But little do they know is that they're already bullshit! So no need to try any harder! You can break up now! ok, you sir have officially lost all talking priveleges. bands are influenced ass. by the music they listen to, their enviroment and the ideas around them. You obviously have never written music. take rap for example. why does it all sound awfully similar? because the artists making it are listening to their favorite music, and not neccessarily trying to copy them, but learn and create from their inspirations ideas. If you'd listen, you can easily descern that their paticular taste in music is across a large rock spectrum. from punk to hardcore and yes, screamo. hell, even some of their guitar parts sound slightly experimental. and im sure im not lumping them in with the "scene" sound, as they probably listen to much much more. sadly, there is no such thing as originality in the world. not anymore at least. when you can form a slightly coherent point, then we'll all listen.
  8. NO, you get your shit straight ... he admitted it already ... no taking it back now. thanks
  9. completely agree on this one. thank you for posting a defence of your opinion that was both well written and mature. the only thing im upset with is the fact that this paticular reviewer listened to 20 seconds of a single song before writing his review. for example, i work at a Gamecrazy and constantly have to tell my customers what makes a game great or bad. Most games i play at least several hours into before i form my opinions. If i played a game for 5 minutes then automatically discounted it, i would be doing wrong by my customers. They play games i hate, and i'll tell them outright "this game is terrible because of the camera, controls, story etc etc." but i do respect their tastes and preferences. thanks for making the fact that opinions are opinions known.
  10. does anyone have a link to the actual review this dude posted? i would honestly expect a lot more professionalism from a magazine such as AP, but i guess im just going to be dissapointed with this paticular one. 1. The band has amazing potential for growth. They used to be more punkish but have gone with a little bit heavier, edgier sound. To lump them in with bands like HH and The Used is to openly admit that you've never listened to any of them. HH in no way shape or form even CLOSELY resmebles the sound of INK. Their guitar is constantly busy, not a shit 4 minute chord progression. The bass keeps right along, the drums are amazing and their new vocalist terrance is spot on with every performance, live or in studio. 2. The band has an incredible stage prescence. So what if they acted like "rockstars" in an arthouse? Who gives a shit, at least they were on stage having fun and doing what they do. Fuck, would you give someone like Dimebag a hard time if he jumped around because thats what he did onstage? fuck that. to ridicule a band because they were into their music and feeling it, and conveying that feeling to their crowd....thats just fuckin pathetic. They get their crowd into their show, and honestly, they were the best diy band ive ever seen, stage prescence wise. 3. Every single one of them is an honest, hard working individual, and they're all incredibly humble. I partied with them the night of their show here in harker heights, texas and they were some of the coolest guys ive met. who cares if they have tons of friends on myspace, thats not what made their music. you cant blame a band for trying to promote their music through the largest social networking site on the internet. It sounds like a pretty logical way of finding new listeners to me, doesnt it? They don't sit on their account all day, whoring themselves to whoever will listen. Its sad that you DID listen to 20 seconds of one song before making your assinine assumption, and i would honestly hope for much higher caliber reviews from a magazine as well established as AP. Perhaps if you'd all step outside the petty insults and pathetic steretypes, you might hear something you'd like. I may not like some of the bands you all may like, but i would never knock them for their work ethic, much less their chosen genre.
