  1. It was a fulfillment through Amazon. I contacted them and was issued a 20% refund for the entire turntable which covered the cost of the stylus. I was just wondering what other options were in the price range.
  2. The idea itself is cool...but it isn't for everyone. Hell, I'm not even sure it's allowed. Regardless, I don't think you gained anything by wasting your time on the comment.
  3. I just received my Pro-Ject Debut Carbon and when I went to set it up I noticed that the needle had either broken off or fallen out of the stylus. I did some research online and found out it would cost 100 for a new cartridge or 85 for a new stylus but apparently there's no way to just buy a needle. So, I decided to just go with a new cartridge all together. So, my questions: Can the needle itself be replaced without a new stylus? Is there a cartridge of equal/better quality for around the same price? What cartridges are compatible with the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon?

  5. Maybe have it set at 30 max and any over runs into the Christmas pot? Though I don't see this getting that much attention.
  6. This is one of the reasons I posted here. That and hopes of finding someone with more than one of the ones I'm looking for so I could save on shipping. Plus I prefer buying from people here. Also, I don't really like Victory in general.
  7. I'm not totally positive but I think paypal charges 2-3%. I would look that up before hand of course.
  8. the leftover from each month could go into a separate pot which would accumulate over an entire year and be used for one big drawing at Christmas. That could get a little difficult though but could also be really awesome. But if like $10 is leftover each month, for example, in December someone could get a $110 item or something. I don't know. Just brainstorming.
  9. I need to be given a green light before diving any deeper into this. If it's all good, I can start writing up some rules tomorrow. I want this to be a community effort so any good ideas for making rules to prevent problems and keep everyone safe would be great before I start typing it all up.
  10. And maybe. If the pot continues to run over, have a free month for all previous contributors.
  11. If this isn't banned, I'd have to make an additional rule stating that the winner must pick something less than or equal to the amount collected...or account for the difference on something more expensive.

  13. Not the money. A record of his/her choosing is what I had in mind. I mean it's $1 once a month and you could win something cool...is it that bad of an idea?
  14. I don't know who to contact about the rules regarding something like this.
  15. A raffle seems more to me like a scenario in which I would be making all the cash and only giving a record to one person. With my plan the lucky person could buy whatever they wanted within the amount collected.
  16. I guess you guys are right. I don't consider it a raffle though. It isn't so much a gamble as it is everyone chipping in for one person to buy a record. Where my wife works they do something similar for birthdays. If it isn't allowed it's cool. I just thought it would be fun.
  17. I think there would have to be like a $1 limit per person. And maybe a 6 month activity regulation. Otherwise I don't see a problem coming up.
  18. I had an idea while I was at work today. I thought it would be cool, once a month or maybe twice to have everyone chip in a dollar...and have a cutoff date. After which the money would be counted up and a name would be drawn out of the contributors. Winner could then choose a record for the same price as the money collected. If this had been proposed or done already I apologize, but just thought it would be cool. Obviously I can't participate but I like doing fun things like this. Does anyone see potential problems or ways it could be made better? I know some people would make multiple accounts which is why I think there should be an amount of time someone should be a member in order to participate. Just wanted to get some thoughts.
  19. Dammit. I wanted this. How much did it sell for if you don't mind?
  20. Looking for one of each album...preferably color vinyl. Pressing doesn't really matter.
