  1. Glad most people are stoked on these. We were super happy with the weight and quality of the the vinyl and how great these things sound! Not to mention the album is amazing. Sorry to hear that man. PM me and I'll get you another jacket.
  2. These are finally here! Sorry everyone for the delay. Setting things up for 210 gram was a little more tricky than we had anticipated. They are beautiful though and suuuper heavy. Well worth the wait. They start shipping out today to everyone who has ordered them. Troy - I just packed yours up. It's on the way!

  4. The full album is now streaming at aol.com. Check it out here: http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds#/15 The vinyl is taking slightly longer than we expected because apparently setting the presses up to make 210 gram vinyl is an ordeal. Thanks to everyone that pre-ordered these. We hope to have them shipping by the end of the month.
  5. Averkiou recently recorded seven MONSTER jams at our studio. They sound amazing. The band is talking about self releasing them as a 7" series. I offered to help or to release all of them as an LP. We'll see, either way new Averkiou music is on the way and it's the best stuff yet. Can't wait for people to hear it. Thanks for the kind words about the COS record everybody. Buy that shit! it slays!

  12. I guess our first record of the year was the second pressing of the Chris Wollard 7" up next... Coliseum / Burning Love "Live at the Atlantic Vol 4" split LP
  13. Totally true. Everyone should feel free to take this opportunity to grab the Future Now LP (it's only $10) and get this Wollard 7" for free. What a deal!
  14. Yup, you can get this as the free 7" if you want. Any LP and any 7" from our catalog. I know a lot of people have emailed me about getting this digitally... Chris and the guys wanted it to be a vinyl only release, so that's what it will be. Don't worry though, his full length will be finished relatively soon. I was in the studio with them today and they are wrapping up guitars. It's going to be an amazing record.
  15. Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves "Anybody Else/Left to Lose" 7" is now available in it's 2nd press. 500 copies on lavender colored vinyl in offset printed, color jackets. These songs are great, jackets and vinyl came out looking great. The Ship Thieves at their best, one acoustic jam and one motown inspired rocker. For sale now in the Sound Study webstore www.soundstudyrecordings.com Also, We are having a sale over at the Sound Study webstore. Buy any LP and get any 7" of your choice FREE. Just add the title of your chosen 7" in the comments section of your order and it's yours. Sale lasts until the end of the month. www.soundstudyrecordings.com
  16. Nope, sorry. Chris and the guys wanted this to be a vinyl only release. One or both of these songs may find their way onto the upcoming full length.
  17. He is recording it right now at Black Bear. I'd say it's half finished or so. Oh, and it's going to be awesome.
  18. No Idea sold all of the ones they had today. I we still have a few in the SSR webstore but I don't think they will last long.
  19. I'm not actually sure... We took a bunch to No Idea for their sale on Sunday. I heard that Chris sold out of the copies they had at the show. I have 100 or so in my hallway, but they are selling very quickly.
  20. So, we have some left over copies of the Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves "Anybody Else/Left to Lose" 7" on white vinyl (/500) from this weekends Fest 9. They are now available at the Sound Study webstore, http://soundstudyrecordings.com/soundstudy/shop.html Sweet!
  21. So... I spent most of yesterday numbering/scoring/folding/packing the new Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves 7"s. They will be good to go and for sale during the Fest flea market tomorrow (Friday) during registration at the Holiday Inn. Oddly enough about half of them came out looking kind of like this... Which matches the artwork pretty nicely. Don't worry though they are all still being numbered out of 500. So, come see Tom or myself at the flea market table and grab one of these. We will also obviously have all of our other records there for sale including the hot off the presses City of Ships "Three Mile Bridge/South Laurel" 7" on actual red vinyl (/89) not hot pink! I also strongly suggest you check out these bands while in town: Young Livers (Sat, 8 Seconds, 10:50-11:20) Army of Ponch (Sat, 8 Seconds, 11:40-12:10) City of Ships (The Atlantic, Sun, 6:40-7:10) Liquid Limbs (The Atlantic, Sun, 7:30-8:00) The Future Now (The Top, Sun, 7:50 - 8:20) Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves (8 Seconds, Sun, 8:50-9:30) Averkiou (Common Grounds, Sun, (9:50-10:30) You can check out some new music from The Future Now and City of Ships on the Punknews.org Fest 9 Compilation here: http://www.punknews.org/bands/thefest9 Also, I'll be doing sound at The Atlantic all weekend. Feel Free to bring me a beer or complain to me that you can't hear the vocals.
  22. Well, like I said... if these don't all get sold at Fest we will make the leftovers available in our webstore. If there seems to be a lot of people beyond that who couldn't get this version and would like one, we plan to press another 500 on a different color. I do however think that having certain records or variations of records be limited is, at least for me, a lot of what makes record collecting fun. There are certainly show exclusive records that I wanted but couldn't get, and that can be a bummer but that's also what makes it a special thing for the people who are able to get a copy. You could also apply this logic to anyone who puts out a record with limited colors. Not everyone who wants it can get it and unfortunately is drives up the price for some people willing to pay ebay prices (and your right neither artist or label will see any of that money). It does however make the record special for the people that were able to get it. Which, in my opinion, is the reason that it was done that way in the first place.
  23. If we don't sell all of them at Fest we will put the remaining ones up for sale in our webstore and you guys will be the first to know. Or... If you know someone going to Fest have them grab you one at the flea market.
  24. Volume four is currently in the mixing stage, it will be a split LP. Official announcements are a couple months off, but the bands on this may or may not rhyme with Doliseum and Churning Dove. It may also be really awesome.
  25. This is the Fest version and the only version. 500 on white. We maaay do another 500 on a different color post Fest if there are a lot of folks that want a copy but can't grab this one. I can tell you though that there won't be more than 1,000 of these total. Yeah, sorry. We are in the process of updating that and adding some new tracks. Hopefully soon!
