  1. We've got a new 7" from Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves coming out for Fest this year. The record will feature two brand new songs recorded just weeks ago with Ryan Williams in his new studio Black Bear here in Gainesville. The A side is a motown inspired rocker titled, "Anybody Else" while the B side is a shimmering and slightly haunting acoustic track titled, "Left to Lose". The record will first go on sale at the Fest Flea Market during FEST 9 in Gainesville on Friday October 29th. The pressing is limited to 500 copies on white vinyl. Hand numbered in screen-printed covers. These two songs will only be available in vinyl format. "Left to Lose" can now be streamed here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Chris-Wollard-The-Ship-Thieves-OFFICIAL/108813349145950?v=box_3 www.soundstudyrecordings.com
  2. Funny you should mention that. So, yeah, we ordered 150 on opaque red and they showed up looking very, very pink. Which I guess is always a possible problem when mixing red and white. Unfortunately though they labels were pretty far off center on the majority of the colored records as well (the black ones were fine likely) So, long story short, I pulled out about 40 of the "pink" red ones that I thought the labels looked okay on, and the plant is re-pressing the other 110. Hopefully the replacements will look more red, but we'll see. If they do come back looking different the first 40 or so of you guys that ordered will end up having a rarer version.
  3. Now you can... The 7" is streaming at punknews.org Check it out at www.punknews.org/bands/cityofships Dinosaur!! - I just sent you an IM
  4. City of Ships "Three Mile Bridge/South Laurel" 7" SSR007 City of Ships rip through two new songs on this 7". It's heavy. It's dynamic. It's gritty yet precise, a giant wall of layered guitars and raging drums. It's a little technical and a lot melodic. It's really good. Includes a download code that gets you a bonus track in the form of the band covering M83's "Don't Save Us From The Flames." 150 on red 350 on black. Available now in the Sound Study webstore (www.soundstudyrecordings.com/soundstudy/shop) for $4. Also available digitally from all major online retailers.
  5. Yes, this record does rule and we do still have some copies on both colors, although there aren't too many left of the clear w/ maroon haze. If anyone is interested you can pick up either color from us for $12 at www.soundstudyrecordings.com/shop or from the fine folks at No Idea. Also! We have a new City of Ships 7" at the plant right now. It should be available in a week or two. It's two new songs, "Three Mile Bridge" and "South Laurel." It will also include as a bonus track with the digital download code the band's cover of m83's "Don't Save Us From the Flames." I'm sure I'll be posting more info about this here soon when we get the records in. 150 on red vinyl 350 on black.

  8. Liquid Limbs new 7", "Dichotomy" is now up and available from the Sound Study Recordings Webstore, www.soundstudyrecordings.com/soundstudy/shop.html Liquid Limbs return with two new ear crushing jams. "Anxiety Free" continues in the band's tradition of combining brutal heaviness with catchy melodies. Recorded with engineer/producer Ryan Williams. Check out "Anti Sacred Shrine" on the band's myspace page: www.myspace.com/liquidlimbs 150 on clear 350 on black Also anyone in the Gainesville area... come out tonight (6/12) to the release party at the Atlantic.
