Precedence, meaning the more important factor..
In other words, they'll be purchasing the 180 because THAT is more desirable than the neon green vinyl..
yep, this
-
did we ever get any confirmation that SRC's Frogstomp vinyl is only 180 gram for the black? I want the neon but 180 gram takes precedence...
-
Yeah they sent out a link in their newsletter
crap, really? I assumed I was on the list but I never got an email. can you share it?
-
just preordered straylight run from strictly discs. that's really the only thing i'm after so far.
Does Strictly Discs have any kind of RSD page/pre order list up yet? I can't find it on the site...
-
wow, really excited about the Blind Melon one - I will be picking that up. I frequently scour eBay for Blind Melon LPs, but it's always too expensive....
-
so the neon green one isn't 180- gram, only black is, correct? (apologies if this is a nOOb question)

My guess is it's the previous press. All the retail prices on the new reissue are at least $30, and I doubt someone on ebay can get them cheap enough to sell for $22.
Well, after asking the seller he said it was "the one released this year", which would imply the new Grundman-mastered one. He was selling more than 1 copy, which also helps support my idea that it isn't the original press.
So, I bought it - hopefully I just found a good bargain.

I was at Hot Topic in Northridge tonight randomly and found two of these...does this mean I got lucky??

I ordered the coke bottle Enema disc, and it arrived today.
It looks HORRIBLY warped though - I haven't been able to try to see if it sounds like crap or not, but it's definitely bent/twisted.
I haven't been as involved in the MTS/SRC debacles on this board (I'm new), but is this par for the course?
Has anyone else received the Coke Bottle Enema LP and if so is yours messed up too?
I actually received mine Monday. My copy looks pretty good. It's not the nicest quality, but overall I'm satisfied. I'm shocked they got these out in the timeframe they did. With the crapfest surrounding MTS I figured it'd be a long wait or cancelled. The insert is a little undersized it's quite a bit smaller than most inserts (this is the only copy of Enema I have so I'm not sure if the insert has always been smaller for previous pressings).
Oh, so it isn't warped?
I played the LP last night on my turntable (well, I sampled most of the tracks) and there wasn't any warping on the audio, but it WAS noticably moving around on the platter.
Surprised it doesn't sound like the warping affected the audio quality, but it'd be nice if it wasn't such an eyesore.

wait so i coke bottle from MTS?
Yeah there's a big Mightier Than Sword logo and it says "2009 Mightier Than Sword Records", which is also odd...

Quick question Shop Radio Cast posted on twitter that Enema... & Dude Ranch on coke bottle have started shipping. Has anyone who ordered either of these actually received a shipping confirmation?
I did order it and have not received one...just curious. With all the TYPAJ and The Ataris both getting canceled from their webstore and all this continued drama around MTS I'd like to hear someone got a shipping confirmation for one of these haha.

Called ahead and put one of three copies on hold at the Northridge store. By the time I got there, all three were accounted for. I called around to the Hollywood and Valencia stores which were sold out, and the Glendale store said they wouldn't put them on the floor until the 10th. Just a heads up for everyone in the LA area!
I hope this doesn't mean you put one on hold but when you got there it was already gone...I put one of the Northridge copies on hold myself... gah
-
called Northridge, guy said they had one copy left, placed a hold on it.
A friend called Hollywood & Highland, they put one on hold but said "can't guarantee anything".
What's the point of allowing customer holds if you "can't guarantee anything"??
Hope that one is there for me when I go in after work...

WHOA. source?
My blog and some other sites, e.g. vinyl collective.
Each soundtrack is limited to 5000 copies, is individually numbered and comes on colored vinyl. Empire on Orange, Pretty in pink on pink vinyl and Breakfast Club on Brown.
Oh wow, I'll have to snag the Empire Records one.

Original Soundtrack---Empire Records (2LP w/poster)
• Original Soundtrack--Pretty in Pink (w/poster)
• Original Soundtrack--Breakfast Club (w/poster)
all good soundtracks, but why not ANGUS - the soundtrack? i'm totally buying the Empire Records one.

Edit - Got excited when I saw Jamiroquai listed but it's just more old shit those fuckheads are dumping. I'm sure this old product dumping will become a new RSD trend.
I'm having a hell of a time finding information about this release - from what I can find it's a limited edition RSD pressing of Rock Dust Light Star, right? That hasn't been released yet stateside, for all I know...is that the "old shit" you're talking about?

Question for anybody using Strictly Discs:
I used them last year and it was great - they called me a few days before RSD and told me what of my request list they were able to hold for me. They then mailed them to me, and I didn't have to worry about those titles.
This time, though, I haven't received an update about my request list yet - and with RSD tomorrow I'm a little bit nervous that I should still venture out in the morning to make sure I get my can't-miss items...
has Strictly Discs contacted any of you that have used them this time around? I don't quite know what to do....
