Any ideas on what the meaning of the title is?

Got a black/gray and receipt/download info.
Wish those splatters were available without the bundle.

I don't have a disc washer, but I did use anti-static brush before playing both times. Seems they both skip in close to the same spots too, which makes me think it's a bad batch.
Two copies of S/T from Amazon and one from local record store. All skip in the same spots, mostly on B side. Frustrating.

I didn't have that problem with my copy, did you clean it?

Got S/T from Amazon, lots of skipping on b-side, ordered a replacement, same problem.
Anyone having the same issue?

Kinda off topic but they had a limited tour press of TIHTWS on white with blue splatter in recycled LP sleeves with a screen print of the album art/track list on the front. 90 total, 5 per show on the tour they just finished.
Got one in the sleeve for Pink Floyd's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
Pretty cool idea.

Finally got shipping notification
Same here. Haven't heard the album yet. I'm sure is worth the wait.

I got the merchnow split coke bottle/turquoise... Anyone notice more surface noise on one half than the other? Pretty noticeable on quiet parts and between songs.

Just got this email from RFC:
We wanted to take a second to let you know that your Pale Horses LP order has shipped! Your order number and USPS tracking number are posted below, but before you paste your tracking number into the USPS tracker (https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input) please read the following note carefully!
The fastest way for us to ship these orders was to batch print all of the shipping labels at once, and then send out bulk shipments at the end of every day. At this time, your package might have been in a shipment that went out a couple days ago and may be out for delivery today, or may have already been delivered.
Conversely, your label may have been printed, but your order may still be in the packing queue waiting to be sent out. If you try to track your package and see something like "not found" or "pre-shipment" do not be alarmed, it will update as soon as the package is picked up by USPS!

Is anyone getting shipping notifications?

Looks great! Also damn that LP is beautiful. Is it Thursday's ACBTLD?
Yessir. One of the better looking LPs in my collection.

Best Buy sells records so I don't see why it wouldn't be legit. As for variant, probably whatever the least limited one is.
Emailed DW, they said BB has the silver. Would have been happy with the 180g black too. Order status says release date is 06/29.

Got me a pink/black. Nice low price, $20 shipped.

Put my order in for the Olive/Bone. Haven't listened to the download yet, but very excited for this album.

Run for Cover records had a pressing on sale the same day the deluxe went up. Obviously only the less limited ones are still available.

Thanks!

Sorry if this is somewhere in the replies, but has anyone heard plans to release a non-deluxe edition on vinyl?
-
Anyone know if this Best Buy link is legit and which variant it would be? I'd order from DW but I got a Best Buy gift card...

The Mars Volta - The Bible And The Breathalyzer / L'Via L'Viaquez 10" Picture Disc
Only played a few times.
Looking for
$30$20 ppd but open to offers. -
The simple answer is yes it's cack but the longer answer is:
Well it's not a Crosley and there are worse but the letters USB usually sound a big alarm bell. with these things the design is usually poor as is the quality control which can mean your lucky and have a good one or unlucky and have a complete record wrecking pile of poo and you won't really know until you try and play your records on a proper turntable.
On the plus side it's got an alloy platter, a metal arm tube and what looks like a standard AT magnetic cartridge copy but on the downside the arm looks to be pretty poor quality, it looks like you can't adjust much if anything on the arm and you can't put a different cart in it, it quotes 2.5 to 3.5g tracking force which seems high as I would expect more like 1.5 to 2.5g so either it's not an AT or it needs to be that high to try and track properly.
For the little you are using it I wouldn't worry too much but if it does concern you get a tracking force gauge and an alignment gauge or even a hifi setup/test record and see how far out the thing is. Also obviously think about replacing it with something a little better if it is worrying you.
The biggest concern with these things and the reasons people worry about premature wear with them are all to do with the way the arm tracks, be that too light or too heavy causing premature wear or that the bearings are so poor that the stylus is pulled hard up against one of the groove walls wearing it's own groove as it goes and getting progressively worse as it moves into the centre of the record.
All the rules that apply to any turntable apply to that one so the means to check it are all out there and quite a lot if it is free like alignment gauges and understanding what you are looking at when it is running.
Thanks, this is exactly the kind of reply I was looking for!

I know it's bad... but just how bad is my turntable? Is it going to ruin my records? I only listen to 1 or 2 a month, so it's not like they're in heavy rotation...

Got my blue copy in 2 days.

Listened to my black copy today. Sounds great. I did hear some sibilance mostly on Blood Red Summer and Backend of Forever but not too bad. I have terrible equipment so I'm sure that could be part of it.
I hear what everyone is saying about the drums and vocals being up front but it still sounds great. I like the big sounding drums. I remember listening to SSTB and IKSSE3 on CD and thinking the guitars were soft in the mix but it grew on me and GA sounded weird the first time in comparison with the big guitars.
Anyways. Totally worth it. Love it. Happy.

Sweet. Thanks.
Also, how can people who put so much emotion in their music be sooo stoic in every interview they’ve ever done?
