  1. I'm with whoever said Chase The Light was boring. I can't remember having listened to that more than twice, and I am a huge fan of JEW. Side note: the first time I saw them was in Philly with the Smoking Popes on this weird Calvin Klein tour. They were giving away CK1 and CKB at the door, and there were models there and a huge truck projecting commercials on the side of the building outside.

Models, Smoking Popes, and JEW. Sounds amazing.

  2. So I just received my copy today - pretty much the same deal as everyone else. I got 2 copies of the LP - signed drawing - no lyric sheet though. Also - both the records were warped pretty badly. I haven't had a chance to play it yet because my turntable isn't setup (just moved & had it shipped to my pop's). Has anyone else had a problem with this release being warped? I'm in southern cali and we've had a very mild summer, but I hear the rest of the country hasn't been so lucky so I figure it happened in shipping. Think it's worth emailing the label about? Judging by the entire process and current state of this release, I'm not even sure it's worth emailing about, but it would be nice after all this time to have a record I could listen to.

I also got the drawing - no lyric sheet. I only played one copy and it was fine. The other one didn't look warped though. I would definitely email. Especially since it seems like they had enough to ship people 2 copies....

  3. So my Asian Man order showed up today and i grabbed the Matt Skiba CD out of the package before i headed out for the night. Did anybody else notice the tracklisting is screwed up? While listening to the CD I instantly noticed that track 13 is a cover of Pegboy's 'Field of Darkness' and not 'Special' as the tracklisting states. Tracks 14 thru 16 are the last 3 of the album as listed. So the big question is was the track mistakenly omitted from the tracklisting on the artwork, or was it not intended to be included on the album?

I noticed this too. Don't know what the deal with that is..

  4. The shrinkwrap isn't that big of a deal. I would prefer it though. If you explicitly state there is no shrinkwrap and I can get the same record, same price from somewhere else with shrink wrap, i would opt for that.

If you're getting in new records and storing them properly then the corner thing should be a non-issue. If I didn't want my records to stay in the shrink wrap, I would just open them up when I received them.

I try to keep my records in good condition, which is why I would choose shrink wrap. No telling what will happen to it between it's unwrapping and getting to my house. I'd rather be the one to unwrap it.
