This. Or go vintage and you might get lucky.
-
This. I must have listened to it 5 times already.
Is there a leak or a full stream anywhere? I'd really like to give it a listen before I end up ordering it.
-
It was like that because it was a tour version.
I got my Coasta copy the other day, and I have to say it's amazing. Sounds pretty great, and the color is beautiful.
Thanks for the solid pressing dude, well worth the wait.
-
Iv got the pink one. This artwork looks so much better!
There isn't just a different artwork and pressing color. There's two different songs, Mountain Sound and Slow & Steady aren't on this, and Lakehouse has an extra verse.
I'm really mad I didn't get this pressing when I saw it go up. If it's any help OP, I occasionally see it going for $40-$50 on eBay.

It was like that because it was a tour version.
Yeah I understand why it was that way, I'm just happy to hear this pressing has a full jacket!
-
Coasta was delivered yesterday!
What is the sleeve like? The tour variant was pretty disappointing, with just a back fold to the cover.
-

I'd be down to buy it off of you if you think the quality sucks and want to let go of it! Then I wouldn't have to trade for it.
I don't know what that is talking about, the quality of mine is fine. Certainly a lot better than last year's ST pressing. If you do want, I might get rid of mine, I haven't completely decided yet.
-
My tour press didn't.
When I got mine from them whoever was at the merch table (I'm pretty sure it was Jon) offered me a free download card, but I ended up declining because I had already bought it off Bamdcamp. Did you buy your's in person?
-
The difference is that its a real jacket with an insert, and not just a foldover cover.
Great to hear, I may have to end up ordering a second copy. Does the insert happen to have lyrics on it or anything like that?
-
I was really impressed by this. Probably going to pick it up when I go out for RSD. Seven Sisters, Avery Hill, and I Need a Change are probably my favorites so far. Really disappointed they didn't rerecord Real Good Lover for this though, that song was such a jam.
-
I will be at Chain Reaction for their final record release show. Hopefully the dudes have a Release Edition LP available.
I asked Soupy this on AP. He said they didn't have anything planned.
-
Is there gonna be any differences between the tour press Coasta and this one? Besides the hand numbered stuff?
I'd also like to know this. I'm not a big fan of the sleeve the tour variant had.
-
From my understanding there's 500 for RSD, and 1,000 of this pressing that Fat Cat just announced today. I could be wrong though but that's how I was reading it...
Do you think the RSD release also going to be having the second LP with the live performance? I'm really looking forward to that.
Actually I just looked at the Fat Cat website, it seems to say the package they announced today is exclusive to RSD, with 1000 copies pressed. So I think there is only going to be 1000 total.

This is for the USA right? My local store says they cant find a thing on it!
Is it a UK pressing?
It's definitely USA. My store said that they'd be trying to hold a copy for me.
-
There is going to be an RSD repress of The Midnight Organ Fight, plus they're doing some sort of split/complilation thing with Manchester Orchestra and Grouplove.
Edit: just saw you already knew about these. My bad.
-
They still had around 30 left after last night, so unless they sell a lot during the festival you should be able to get them off their bandcamp.
-
Yeah, I am 99% sure these won't sell out the first night. I'm 100% certain that I will never hook you up if you ask though. Welcome to VC.
Haha I was just kidding dude, no need to take it so seriously. Sorry if I came off the wrong way.
-
Ah, well we'll see if they will let me grab 6-7 of them for people then.
I'm gonna be at the Allentown show the night after Philly. If you buy all of these I'm gonna be so pissed.

I'd re-think the P3... the model is old, now discontinued, and generally... badly reviewed. I went with 2100 and 2125. New model preamp, greatly, professionally reviewed. But, my first idea was A23/P3. Then after about 3 months, I just pulled the trigger on the New Classic combo. And funny, I at one point was looking at the CM5s. But... now leaning towards the Ascend Sierras.
Really, from what I've read it seems like the P3 is pretty well liked for its price. Plus my local stereo store still has it in stock, and that's where I would be buying it from. He'd probably give me a pretty good deal on it too since it's discontinued.
I haven't looked at the New Classic line yet, I've only experienced the Halo line. Do you know if they ever replaced the P3 with something similar in price? Thee P7 is $2000 and the JC2 is about the same I think.
If you're still looking for speakers, Golden Ear is supposed to be out of this world. They have both towers and bookshelfs.
Or you could really support America and buy a pair of Wilson Alexandrias.
-
The amount we have in common is insane. The next amplification I'm looking to get is the Parasound Halo P3 and A23. How do you like yours? And I'm really seriously looking at VPI.
I cheated on speakers though, I have a pair of B&W CM5s.

thirdfromthesun- #1. Nice burn, great minds. #2. Tell me about that Lounge. What drew you to it?
I ended up getting the Lounge for a couple of reasons.
First I saw some really good user reviews on it that stated it blew away phono preamps in a similar price range.
I also loved the way it looked, I'm a big fan of the solid wood enclosure and the slight blue glow. I was leaning towards getting a Cambridge Azur, but was just tired of how all my equipment was black plastic and metal.
And the main reason I got it was because it was hand-made in America. I figured I'd rather give the guy making it my money than some corporation that are making these things over in China. Plus it came with a 1-year warranty so I was sure if something ever happened it would easily be fixed.
I ended up loving it. I still have to compare it with the Pro-Jects at my local store. But as I said, compared to the Yamaha's input it blew it away.

He already has a pre amp.
He was asking about upgrading. I told him to use the money on other stuff first. The odds that that upgrade is going to give him much better performance is probably negilent on the system he has.
Its providing him with the voltage gain he needs. Buying a lower model stand alone will serve the same fuction. Sorry the word power through you off. Thought you were smarter than you appear
But than again I am not curing cancer like someone else in this thread and tooting their own horn on a constant basis
Except he doesn't have a phono preamp. He has a phono input built-in to his receiver.
He definitely doesn't need a new cartridge first, because the 2M is pretty solid by itself.
It's hard to tell how good his speakers are, but they're probably not that great (no offense OP) but for $100 to $200 he's not going to be able to get anything substantially better.
To claim that a stand-alone phono stage is not going to provide a better experience than a built-in Yamaha version is either disingenuous or ignorant. Sure they both may provide the same amount of voltage gain, but phono stages are known to have unique sound signatures. It would be akin to saying this Onkyo and this McIntosh sound the same because they're both rated at 75 watts per channel.

In an audio system, the second amplifier is typically a power amplifier (power amp). The preamplifier provides voltage gain (e.g. from 10 millivolts to 1 volt) but no significant current gain. The power amplifier provides the higher current necessary to drive loudspeakers.
A phono preamp has two main functions; converting the voltage from the turntable to a usable level for the receiver (which you said) and equalizing the sound. But just because it increases the voltage output, it doesn't mean it is a "power source". Preamps provide NO power to the speakers in a system.
And congrats on learning about Wikipedia.
My recent foray into vinyl has yielded the following. Description of a recent convert inside.

Congrats on your first table dude!
You need to seriously adjust your speaker placement though, a picture of your setup taken further out would totally help.
I agree with pretty much everything yanquiuxo said regarding your questions.
