  1. No, people complaining over a 5 dollar comp with that many tracks, and saying the labels "overhyped" the releases are dildo's. It's 5 bucks, you supported the label buying the release, the hype is what every label strives to do with every release. Personally I never heard of it until I saw it on here, so it's obviously not hyped all that much. But then again I don't spend my life on message boards.

If nothing else, feel good about yourself for supporting smaller indie labels that are putting out stuff. While every other label is seemingly only rehashing major label crap, it looks like these two labels are actually putting considerable effort into marketing and publicizing their own bands, and trying to turn people onto new music, and bands that they may have never heard of before.

The bands on these two labels, and people that want to support independent music should be stoked for these guys, not talking shit about em.

Cue post "complaining about complaining" but a lot of you people on here are entitled pricks.

  2. Pretty ridiculous you won't drop $5 for a 70 song compilation put out by 2 independent labels. Just because you've bought things from them (or HT) in the past doesn't entitle you to free music. That's like saying 'Hey I saw this band live and bought a shirt 5 years ago. I should be allowed to download everything they put out for free.'

It's $10 with shipping, unless I'm missing something about HT's shipping costs. And I've supported them way more than this...I don't really see the need to outline a justification here. Between shirts, concerts, and records, on La Dispute alone I've spent...directly from retailers, not ebay, probably $350 at least? I don't think another $5 will make that much difference. At this point, I get all music for free. Plenty of bands have also advised me to do so. If I like the music, I will see you live, buy a shirt, and buy your records. I'd go broke if I started buying CDs too, even for $10 a pop.

I also did not say I was entitled...I was just saying I'm not a free rider, having supported them plenty.

Also, I already have the no sleep subscription. Top Shelf would be nice, but considering the odds I don't care much about a golden ticket.

And final point: It's a comp. Labels give these away for free to get you into new bands. If a label wants to advertise bands to me, they can fund their own expenses--I see it as me paying for their advertising. But that's just me, and I can definitely see the other side of the coin here.

Are people really this open about stealing music now? Straight up asking someone to pirate it for them..

No matter what you think, this is, in fact a sense of entitlement that you feel you have.

You are either a total asshole, or a young kid that doesn't seem to know that stealing music is not a cool thing to do to indie labels. These things cost money to make, and with them selling it at an SRP of only 5 bucks, They are probably breaking even maybe after distributor cost's etc.

  3. Hope no one has mentioned this yet. If so my apologies for a new thread.

Just found out that Opiate and Undertow are readily available. It's on Volcano/Zoo records so it's legit.

Is this common knowledge? Or is this brand new? They are really cheap also.

Undertow is a double LP for well under 20 bucks, and Opiate is under 10 bucks.

  4. I will most definitely be ordering the Pinkerton Thugs lp package. I did'nt even know that this was coming out. Are you going to print shirts in XXL?

yesir! Got xxl and xxxl. Same price, just don't forget to put your size in the notes.

The new Ducky Boys/Pinkerton Thugs split will also be available exclusively on tour, and July 17th I believe in stores.

Most of the new releases aren't scheduled for a street date until July, but we have everything in hand and need money for gas for tour! So we're sneaking some out from under our distributor :)

Every 7" buys a gallon of gas, LP's buy 3 gallons.

Every purchase is very much appreciated!

With In Utero topping the charts on both sides of the Atlantic following its September 1993 release, Nirvanas celebrity was not in question. When Pearl Jam released their debut album Ten on 27th August 1991, it heralded a new era for alternative music in the US mainstream. Although it took almost 18 months for the record to reach its highest Billboard placing, ultimately peaking at number two, it ensured that Pearl Jam remained an unmistakable presence in the upper regions of the charts for the long term.

The band toured extensively in support of the album, and on the 28th March 1992 they played the renowned Cabaret Metro in Chicago. The Metro’s fairly intimate surroundings helped to generate a dynamic atmosphere, as can be witnessed to full effect on this CD, as the band work through all but one of the songs from Ten. Five bonus cuts are also included from various television broadcasts made throughout 1992, including a delicious version of The Who’s ‘Baba O ‘Riley’.

By the end of 1992, Pearl Jam were firmly established as rock royalty following Ten’s eventual massive success. Their performance at the Cabaret Metro however provides a near perfect insight into a band on the verge of global superstardom and displaying a confidence and ability that suggests they knew exactly where they are headed.

  8. I know there is a lot of you on here.

Mon: 6/18:Ft. Collins CO:(Surfside 7) The Scarred with Violent Affair

Tues: 6/19: Denver CO: (Lions Lair venue) Pinkerton Thugs, The Scarred with Violent Affair

Full tour dates are up on the Jailhouse facebook page. We'll update it with venue names and times etc shortly, there is literally about 60 dates, so it will take a while

    June 14-August 8th

Most of the tour is Pinkerton Thugs with The Scarred. With about 2 weeks with Violent Affair as well.

Tour exclusive vinyl includes the Ducky Boys/Pinkerton Thugs split (out early on tour, on exclusive color and covers) new limited /100 run of a Scarred 7", and of course Pain and Pinkerton Thugs, and a new 7" from them, as well as all bands full back catalogs etc.

The tour exclusives are all limited to around 100 to 120. So not many at all.

    Anyway...

  9. Before we jump to conclusions here, I just want to remind everyone. That it isn't that they aren't shipping it. If we used RJ's terminology it's just out of print, and your records will be back on the site at twice the price.

Nothing to worry about, there will be an update soon.

  10. Please make a documentary about this whole ordeal. Interview the band members he's worked with, buddy, the people at src etc.... Would be epic and i bet some people on here would buy it.

Set up a kickstarter and im in.

Btw- Has anyone tried to file a claim with the NY BBB? There's more then enough documentation and im sure we can all get our money back that way, if all else fails.

The BBB does nothing, the whole BBB thing is an entity to help business owners not consumers. If they are a member of the BBB it will not do anything, if they are not a member they already have an F likely. But worst case scenario, the BBB will contact MTS and try to force them to pay em a couple grand to get a grade of A

oops, need to read other post, before posting myself :(

But seriously, whoever actually thought this was coming out after almost a year of excuses is/was delusional. I can't imagine not asking for a refund after 3 months or so.

At the least, hopefully this is a learning experience for customers of doo doo repress/licencing, look at me I'm a record exec labels.

  11. As a film student, part of me really wants to make documentary based on this thread called "how to really fail at something." or "vinyl$: the rj crowder story ( how I learned to stop worrying and love the repress)"

  12. For pre-order. These are actually tour exclusives, but if you can't catch em on tour, there is a literal handful up at

    http://jailhouserecords.storenvy.com/products/316242-pinkerton-thugs-the-pain-and-lp-or-cd-shirt-combo

Probably not too many Pinkerton Thugs fans on here..

Also they won't be shipping till June.I'm not a fan of pre-orders, especially ones that are more than a couple weeks.

But regardless, some people have asked..

I leave for tour June 1st and am picking em up at the plant on June 6th and shipping em out.

Retail street date is late July, and is not the tour exclusive.

    blah blah...

  13. This is awesome. And it's not like a million people didn't warn everyone about MTS sucking fat nuts before they ordered this. So people kinda told you so. If whoever has held out for this long, and still thought that they were going to get shipped today, you are a huge idiot.

At least this makes me feel better for taking 2 weeks ocassionally to ship out orders, when we're slammed.

Hopefully this "label" will finally die off

  14. Shipping in 2 weeks

Just put it up for pre-order. Test approved, jackets here, etc.

Pressed on 3 colors. I'll send out color to all pre-orders. But don't really have exact pressing info.

All brand new tracks from each band.

    3.25

All of our 7's are between 2.50-3.25. Punk rock should be affordable!

Shipping is 2.50 for the first item, but if you buy more than 1, it gets massively cheaper per item.

  15. @ Tiny Engines, do you think that is a bit risky, (not being a smartass at all, genuinly wondering) to not get test's and rely on the reference lacquer. It's kind of two totally different animals. Most pressing errors are due to plating or stamper damage. Not the lacquer cut. It would scare the piss out of me personally to do a run with no test pressings. And without test pressings, it typically voids out any recourse if the record comes out with problems.

Again just wondering, not tossing my opinion in there. Interested in if you've ever had problems with the pressing, and if there was any recourse?
