Yeah i tried buying this on AT's website last year and it was available on the site, but about 2 weeks after ordering it I got a snail mail letter with a coupon for a $12 credit. 

does anyone want to turn this thread into a discussion about the represses? I've become somewhat familiar with the one that sucks (the one with the printed sticker on the jacket, no "don't make me beg" on the back) but I just bought a boot that is different. The gatefold jacket is flimsy but includes the insert and the rear of the jacket has "don't make me beg...just fuck me" on the back. It also has the blank barcode. I believe the labels are the same as the OG boot. They have "compact disc" on them and there's no smut on the B-side label.

 

My big question is if anyone has any insight on the sound quality. my matrix stamp is very different than the OG boot on discogs which would imply new press plates. I don't think it sounds bad either. But I don't have a 1st press and i don't have the first boot to make a comparison. I DO know that i don't have to turn the volume way up, which seems to be the biggest gripe with the first boot.

I LITERALLY just sold off all these 1st presses to a collector to help raise cash for a down payment on a house. I couldn't be happier about my decision. pre ordering all of these

heard this. definitely pre ordering. love crusades. everyone should. the new 7" is fucking amazing too. 

someone from SF was selling off a few of these (US version) boots on ebay. I picked one up for $46 with free shipping. The title description did not have "songs for the deaf" in it so it could only be searched by searching through all QOTSA vinyl and finding it through there. Nobody was bidding on it. 

 

I think the vinyl quality is pretty great. The jacket was what i expected from a boot.

I apologize because i guarantee that there is already a thread about this. I couldn't find it on a search. Someone link me and i'll delete this.

 

 

Anyway, in my early days of collecting, I blindly bought a used copy of Dead Kennedys "Give me convenience..." and it has an obvious, significant warp in one spot. I want to fix it. There are so many different opinions on how to do this, and each one always warns the possibility of ruining the record. 

 

Thoughts?

Its not going to drive down the price of the legitimate press. If anything it will make the price rise because this will make it that much harder to locate an official press.

Yeah....looks 'boot like' for sure.  I can't tell if the yellow tag on the front is a sticker like the proper release.  The bootleg of Rated X printed the sticker graphic onto the cover.  And yeah, this is the first UK pressing boot I've seen.  The Ipecac pressing has had every color under the sun 'unofficially' pressed at this point. 

 

well, at least i can finally pick up a boot for under $75-$100. hopefully this drives the price down for all the other boots and OGs for a bit. I can't justify the cash at those prices right now. but I really want this LP
