PhotoJ
Hello, I'm looking at buying a Marantz 2240 that has been in the box for 38 years and still has the protective plastic on the face and comes with the original wood slip. They are asking $300, does this sound like a decent deal? Also is this a decent reciever for vinyl?
Tardcore
make sure it works properly. an amp that has been sitting in a box for 40 years may not fare as well as one that has seen consistent use over the years.

As to the value I can't really say but I expect there would be quite a bit of competition at that price both vintage and relatively new
