byfallingbomb Posted July 23, 2008 Share Posted July 23, 2008 I bought this vintage Zenith MC 6170 stereo receiver with phono input at the goodwill today for a cheap price. There's something wrong with the right speaker connection because I can't get any sound through that side. I've switched around the speakers and everything so I know it's not the speakers giving me problems. When I plug the speaker into the right connection, it gives out a little crackle, which signifies that power is going to that side, right? Anyway, I'm planning on taking it apart soon to look at it, but does anyone know what the problem might be, and if it is fixable? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Open it up and look to see if you can see anything, if not take it somewhere and see what they'd charge to fix it. Even if you have to pay a bit, you might still end up with a really good deal. byfallingbomb Posted July 23, 2008 Author Share Posted July 23, 2008 I opened it up and took a look at it. Everything was connected fine, and there were no problems as far as I could tell. I cleaned it out a bit then put it back together. It's still not working. I'm not sure where I can take it to, but there has to be somewhere around here that deals with this shit.
