Guest Admin
MMCIII "S/T" 7" TO BE EATEN "In The Clearing" LP yellow/black vinyl STRANGERS DIE EVERY DAY/JOSEPH CHILDRESS split 7" NEW ROME "S/T" LP + CD My Calculus Beats Your Algebra "Shackleton's Dogs" LP (LINKS TO EACH RELEASE CAN BE FOUND ON THE HOME PAGE OF VC) Our good friend Dan runs a great local label called Ash From Sweat Records. He has been documenting Denver's local music scene for years and has been putting out vinyl since its early inception. Hard to pigeonhole the type of music Dan has put out, but he has put out everything from Metal to Singer-songwriter to post-hardcore. He spends an unusual amount of pain-staking time with the package of every record with most records containing screen printed jackets and die cut packaging. The releases are often limited to runs as small as 300 copies. Since Dan is local he often brings in records and more times than not buys records (his recent purchases include the Coalesce 10 YR pressing this morning and the Rocky Votolato releases a few weeks back). I told him if he brought in some test pressings, we could do a big push on his label and maybe get a few people to check out some tunes. If you have a second, check out some of these myspace pages to familiarize yourself with what he does: MMCIII http://www.myspace.com/MMCIII To Be Eaten http://www.myspace.com/tobeeaten Strangers Die Every Day http://www.myspace.com/strangersdieeveryday / Joseph Childress http://www.myspace.com/josephchildress The New Rome http://www.myspace.com/thenewromerock Buy any Ash From Sweat title and you will be entered to win a test pressing, dan is actually giving us 3 copies of the test press for Strangers Die Every Day / Joseph Childress. We will announce winners around the end of August.
Guest Admin
i wanted to add 2 things: 1. Dan is a message boarder on our board (he is afsdan). and 2. he once brought the VC staff 4 bombers of home brewed beer to show gratitude for us carrying their records. How rad is that? The beer was delicious too.
takingchase
I will check these all out just by reading about how much work he puts into each release. I think it shows a lot when someone puts that kind of time and energy into a record they believe in.

Guest afsdan
http://mcbya.net/RepublicofThoronia/Music.html scroll down a lil' bit, and the album is "Shackleton's Dogs". It's all there. enjoy. It's a weird album given this review by a nice fella: "probably the best experimental record in years to come out on a non-genre exclusive label" ~Phil @ 5nakefork.
