subhomeseabs
I skanked my face off. My bf was working the show and he was probably embarrassed as shit that I was dancing so hard. It was so much fun though. Seriously, you cannot be in a bad mood when listening to ska.
suburbanargyle
I saw Mustard Plug open for the Bouncing Souls in Baltimore at Fletchers in 1999. I hate to say it, but they bored the bejesus out of me. I like some Less Than Jake, and I love Operation Ivy (does that count as ska?). That's just about it though. tonyregret
if ska is ever to come back, it's going to lie on the shoulders of all the third wave bands still kicking it. the amount of GOOD, new, up and coming ska bands is very small there is a big scene in the Philly/NYC/NJ/W-B area. other than that, ska is pretty much gone. in western pa we almost never get ska shows. in W-B there were several really good young bands like Slightly Askew, The Argyles, Big Green, and Bob & the Sagets (who later became the Menzingers!) the northeast has been pretty consistent with ska shows for the past few years, and i've heard that the OC scene has been revitalized as well. but you gotta realize, that for most of the third wave, southern california and the northeast were the ska breeding grounds. it wasn't until the tail end of 3rd wave that ska became the household MTV trend. I think as long as the two coasts are thriving that's all that matters...
