mybabyxsmokes
i know you need a pre-amp if your receiver does not accept phono input, but what about a stereo component amp. does this do exactly what it says? amplify your sound? i just bought a vintage receiver that is only 40wpc, so will an amp boost this sound? any help would be awesome. You don't need to amplify it any more than that. I'm sure your vintage receiver has a phono input, if thats the case, then just plug the turntable in and you're good to go! Modern companies push high wattage units as a means to impress consumers, but it really doesn't matter as much. 40 is PLENTY. My receiver has 16 WPC and its more than enough. Shit, my next amp is going to be TWO WPC. Anyways, you're fine.
