vittywatt
How does one live in San Fran and have any money at all? There seems to be a record store around every corner in San Fran. After visiting for a week I spent almost 100 bucks on records and loved every minute of it. Amoeba visited twice, Recycled Records, Some Crazy 7inch shop, Rasputin, Hot Topic - Jesus there really are great deals on clearance on the west coast Best quote of them all: I saw HWM - No Division on a wall for Fifty Bucks...I asked the clerk what copy/rarity it was and his response 'Um some weird purple swirly crap' Guy didn't even take it out to show me...lame! I also saw eating lamb - nofx go for 50 bucks at amoeba. later that day it went for 15.50 on ebay lol!

ryantheterrible
i had to pass amoeba every day twice a day on my walk to work. i would usually buy like a ton of stuff on payday only to sell it back to make rent a few weeks later. good times. hickey
*cough* *cough* Come to Oakland http://www.1234gorecords.com *cough* Seriously, anyone doing record shopping in San Fran should BART over to Oakland and walk the few blocks to Steve's shop. It was one of the best punk focused stores I've ever shopped in (despite the somewhat shady neighborhood). I had a vinyl budget set aside for my trip and dropped every penny in 1234 Go! and left with a bag full of amazing stuff.

coryvc
I found Amoeba to be pretty disappointing, but Rasputin was amazing. I literally emptied my pockets there some $120 later.
