mystic84
how do you tell? Generally speaking, because I've been collecting records my whole life. I'm not saying I've never been fooled by a bootleg but there's usually plenty of signs. Experience goes a long way. In this specific case, there's plenty of signs. It came out before or at the same time as the regular release. There wouldn't be any reason to bootleg the album at that point. Plenty of the copies went to actual radio stations, based on the people selling them back then. And if you compare it to other Reprise releases around that time, there's no signs of it being a bootleg. I don't think Reprise ever completely dropped vinyl. Basically, there's no indication that it's a bootleg whatsoever. uh...ok. i've begun collecting vinyl about three years ago.
