musicinveins11 Posted December 28, 2009 Share Posted December 28, 2009 since when was nfg popcore? i dont think i've ever heard them attempt a breakdown. they are pop punk. well its definetly getting into particulars but new found glory along with movielife are credited with starting popcore ( although other bands did it before them with less success ) and while they do have hardcore breakdowns it is much different then how bands like four year strong , me vs hero ect do it these days . popcore or easycore or whatever has changed since 2005 or so when it became more about breakdowns and less about speed and the pop sensibilities but make no mistake about it the 2 bands i mentioned paved the way for fyg and their ilk . you could here it in the nfg not without a fight that they were basically saying " this is our scene and our sound , stand back lets show you how its done" and they did as that album is the best since the catalyst for sure and maybe my favorite period .
