swank
I'm curious about how many people (in any) look at my website, so I want to get a counter. Any recommendations? It would be cool if it did stuff like tell me what page they came from, where they're from, etc

swank
google analytics Thanks for the quick reply! I was under the impression that Google analytics was mostly for putting ads on your site with Adsense (which I'm not really interested in at this point) Looking into it now... ihprstl
So what info does Google Analytics tell you that the applications in your host's control panel don't?

Guest
So what info does Google Analytics tell you that the applications in your host's control panel don't? It's a lot cleaner interface with a lot of visually appealing graphs and charts. You can set up goals, A-->B conversions, and have it linked up to your Adwords account among many other things. It's not meant as a replacement, but as a supplement to your current webstats.

Since many people use script blockers in their browsers I would think that would affect the numbers. Not that I'd be looking for something to be 100% accurate. Also, how does adding that code change the load time of a website?
Guest
Yes, if Java script is disabled it will not function. Load times shouldn't be affected, as the JS file relatively small and is hosted on Google servers.
