Is there a certain way to brush the record? I don't want to scratch it or anything. - Jeff
skumbucket
the best way is to put it on cue so that it's spinning, then just hold the bristles straight out from the centre of the record to the edge, so that the whole playing surface is covered. just apply slight pressure so that the bristles can get into the grooves and let it spin four or five times. then slowly drag it towards the other edge, keeping it in a straight line the whole way. it should drag all the dust off with it. the bristles themselves won't scratch the playing surface or anything, just make sure you don't push down on it so hard that the actual handle hits the record. if it's like the one pictured above, just rotate the handle and the little bar on the inside will clear the particulates off the bristles. then you're ready to go again.
