cymbalism15
Are the two of these together for $600 a good deal? "Piano" color Black Debut Carbon Pro-Ject SE II Preamp I need opinions mostly on the preamp, is it worth the money or will I be fine with the cheaper $150 version that Pro-Ject makes? How do you guys like the Piano (Glossy Black) in comparison to the matte Also, how does Pro-Ject stack up against the Rega in the same price range, since the other thread never picked. Thanks for all the help!
ajxd
The other thread never picked because there is no picking. No one is better than the other. Pro-Ject has great things, Rega has great things. Both are awesome entry level tables. The SE II will be better than the cheaper pre-amp. If you bought the cheaper, would you notice it lacking? Nope. And do you like shiny or non-shiny?
bluedeni
Those two turntables are pretty much the same. As you go up the scale of turntables for both those brands it becomes a matter of taste. Regas have certain sound to them as well as Pro Jects, I personally prefer Rega's sound. Like Axjd said the SE II is better but you probably won't notice a sound difference. AdventureIsOutThere
I absolutely love my carbon and I am glad I chose the piano black in the end (I was originally planning on getting the matte finish). As far as the preamp goes, I have a cheaper pro-ject preamp and I am quite happy with that as well.
cymbalism15
I said fuck it and pulled the trigger! I don't regret it yet but I still have plenty of time for that... AdventureIsOutThere
