Sansui SR-838 cartridge opinions

Nice.  That's a pretty table, and by most accounts a great performer.

Tonearm looks low-to-medium mass (don't quote me on that), so you'd want a cartridge with medium-to-high compliance.  Grados should work fine, as should most of the cartridges we discuss on this forum.  Here's are a couple threads with some discussion on the subject.

Matching cartridges to tonearms is an interesting science involving math I don't understand and achieving a resonant frequency in the 9 - 12 Hz. range.  There's lots of online calculators out there that will do the work for you, and all you need to know if the tonearm's effective mass, the weight of the cartridge and its compliance.

Generally speaking, most of the tonearms discussed here are in the low-to-medium range, and most of the moving magnet cartridges we talk about are good matches.  It's when you have a turntable with an ultra-light tonearm - or conversely, something really heavy - that you have to be careful about which cart you choose.
