searos
Thought I would make a thread for this. The Limousines (A electro pop duo) are about to release their 2nd album. It was successfully funded on kickstarter last year. The band has working really hard after receiving over double their objective. They sent out the early download copies to backers and I can say this album is AWESOME. They really amped it up. I felt their old work was really silly but fun. This album is a lot darker and serious. Honestly it sounds like Passion Pit with a bit more edge. The synth is layered beautifully and they must of put a lot of time into the studio. You can pre-order here: http://thelimousines.bigcartel.com/ Also if you want to see how frequently and successfully they handled their kickstarter you can look at their page and see a Kickstarter done right. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ericvictorino/the-limousines-hush-the-new-album Personally liked this band somewhat so pledged cause the rewards were very fair imo. This album exceeded my expectations by a lot and I really recommend it. It drops June 11, 2013. I really hope yall check out this album even if you did not like or hear of their prior work. This album is the album they really wanted to make but never had the funding or studio equipment to craft. Here is the first new song but it is only a small taste of an awesome album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zg16dy3B79w Thanks everyone who gives this an album a chance! I did not even expect to like it as much as I did!
combatwaffle
I enjoyed Get Sharp (and had to have it on vinyl so I could show everyone the album art) and I'm looking forward to this release but I was a little underwhelmed with that first single. Maybe it'll be a grower or be better in the context of the album.
searos
It is ok but there are many better tracks. Its not the best. Fools Gold, Hush, Wrecking Ball, Bedbugs, and more are all fantastic.
combatwaffle
That's good to know. I'm also super disappointed I missed this Kickstarter... I didn't get into Kickstarter until a month ago when Anamanaguchi started theirs.
searos
yea I think this is an example of a kickstarter handled really well. Honestly the first song on the album which is also the first single is probably the most straightforward song but sets the pace for the album well. The majority of the album is mid tempo and you will find no "Very Busy People" or "Internet Killed The Video Star" but songs like "Fool's Gold", "Haunted", "Wrecking Ball" and "Hush" show just how much this band has progressed.
