toomanyrecords
I was scanning discogs when I ran into this album at a local record shop and saw that nasco pressed the first pressing and then the recent reissue. This wasn't a reissue and said nasco on it so I got stoked that I found a first press After buying it I spoke to the guy about it and learned that it was a bootleg. I was a little bummed but he said to bring it home and listen and if I don't like it, to return it. My question is ... Which pressings of this album are worth keeping? I have no idea what this boot was sourced from nor would I be able to listen to an original to compare.
jase
You don't need to compare it to an original. Listen to it, and if it sounds good keep it. If it sounds like trash take it back like the store clerk said
kamalatapes
I own some The Smiths bootlegs and those work cool for me
btr001
Originals can go for $500+, so a boot is probably the only way you're going to own this record. I'm guessing the "Nasco" reissue is actually a Scorpio pressing, which are generally cheap and lousy quality.
toomanyrecords
No, the Scorpio pressing is the 180g reissue. They had that too and I passed on it for that very reason. They thought this might be a german or italian boot - It had just a white label with black text, very plain.
