RivannaJunction Posted November 4, 2013 Share Posted November 4, 2013 Hey guys, I was hoping you might have some ideas for diagnosing this intermittent metallic-sound vibrating/buzzing that I'm noticing. Here's my setup. Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with Ortofon 2M Red Stock Phono Input Cable Marantz PM5004 (refurbished) Not sure about the speaker cable - had it for years, doubt it is anything fancy, possibly stock with the speakers? Sony SS-MB150H Speakers The sound might have something to do with bass notes but I'm not sure, I've heard it in the middle of songs but I've also heard it on the outro or between tracks (specifically on Exister by Hot Water Music). Also, the speakers in my room are generally to my left and the sound almost sounds like it is coming from my right. But I don't have a subwoofer and I can't imagine my $50 speakers are causing anything on my right to rattle or vibrate. Longshot, but any ideas? Thanks in advance. P.S. I know I should buy new speakers. Will probably get the Diamond 10.1s. That way I can go for the "Most Generic VinylCollective Setup Ever" award.
