hexonxonx
I have a Technics turntable along with a Technics Equalizer. These are connected to an old Marantz receiver. All work great except the receiver is old and doesn't have a remote like my newer Onkyo receiver. Of course the Onkyo does not have a phono input and the turntable will not work with it without a preamp which I do not have. Does anyone know if the equalizer would work as a preamp with the Onkyo receiver?

hexonxonx
turntable -> marantz phono in -> pre out -> onkyo aux in There is no pre out on the Marantz receiver if that is what you are referring to.

slinch
okay, in this case: turntable -> marantz phono in -> tape 1 out -> onkyo aux in a slightly better option would be grabbing a cheap phono pre, something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Pyle-PP999-Phono-Turntable-Pre-Amp/dp/B00025742A/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1413989090&sr=8-3&keywords=phono
hexonxonx
I will eventually buy a phono preamp but for now, your suggestion should do, Thanks for the help.
