joshtank
It's been HOT down here in Florida. Summer officially starts later this month, but it's beyond here already. Hope yours is going well! Jackets for the KNIFE HITS and ASCEND/DESCEND LPs are in hand! Things are rolling along for the WORSEN and SEVERED+SAID Tapes, and the UNINHABITABLE LP should quite literally be here any day now. Meanwhile, hit up the ONLINE STORE. Lots of new additions and restocks. Stay cool, -Josh We're also running very low on a handful of previous releases, and a bunch have been marked down. Check them out HERE. Here's some of the new additions, followed by a list of restocks! Asschapel "Total Destruction 1999-2006" 2xLP At the turn of the 21st Century a Chapel of Ass arose from the buckle of shit known as the Bible Belt, Nashville, Tennessee. Built upon the crushed dreams of many aspiring country singers off music row, some local dudes accidentally formed the Satanic thrash rock juggernaut ASSCHAPEL, only to find themselves self-destructing into hellseven years later without a trace... Behold the only remaining relic of ASSCHAPEL's existence: the band's thirty-one wretched tracks of total destruction captured during their lifespan between 1999 and 2006, here collected with Total Destruction (1999-2006). This gathering of tracks will hold the scriptures found on the band's Fire And Destruction, full-length, Total Worship LP, Satanation & Rotting the Body 7”s PLUS Live Through Destruction live video, all bound in a Stoughton double-LP gatefold-jacketed package with a poster insert, and DVD. 21.50 | Learn more Carpenter, John "Assault on Precinct 13 b/w The Fog" 12" Much of the power of the best films by the cult director John Carpenter can be attributed to their use of music — music that, more often than not, was composed and performed by Carpenter himself. What began as a necessity for the low-budget productions by Carpenter became a major part of his aesthetic, and established him as a pioneering figure in genre-film score work as well as electronic music in general. Now, flanked by his son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies, and with two albums (Lost Themes andLost Themes II) of non-soundtrack material under his belt, Carpenter has decided to revisit some of his most beloved themes. This 12" release includes the themes toAssault on Precinct 13 and The Fog, newly rerecorded by Carpenter and hisLost Themes bandmates. May it serve as a bridge between the Horror Master’s legendary, still relevant past and his remarkable present. 15.00 | Learn more Purchase "Halloween / Escape From New York Gasmask Terror "Chape de Plomb" LP Thirteen years strong, six records and multiple tours of Europe, USA, and Japan, France's premier d-beat machine returns with their third LP. This LP finds the band taking their fluent mastery of Totalitar-inspired d-beat in a slightly more rocking direction, with wild guitar solos, bouncing high-octane riffs, and (over)driving momentum permeating throughout the record. I never get tired of great d-beat and as a result I never get tired of Gasmask Terror. 13.00 | Learn more I_like_dog_face "Fermenting Archives" Tape Sarasota experimental noise artist i_like_dog_face... a single person wailing and moaning into a microphone, wearing Christmas lights in an otherwise pitch-black room. The music beneath these outcries was just as hectic. Large, industrial pulses clashed against static fuzz. Performance art and music and madness concurrently. 6.00 | Learn more Mogwai "Atomic" 2xLP Atomic, the new album by Scottish experimental rock legends Mogwai, is composed of reworked versions of the music recorded for the soundtrack to director Mark Cousin's acclaimed documentary Atomic: Living In Dread and Promise, which first aired on BBCFour last summer. Constructed entirely of archive film, Atomic is an impressionistic kaleidoscope of the horrors of our nuclear times – protest marches, Cold War sabre-rattling, Chernobyl and Fukishima – but also the sublime beauty of the atomic world, and how x-rays and MRI scans have improved human lives. Mogwai's soundtrack encapsulates the nightmare of the nuclear age, but its dreamlike qualities too. It is the latest in the band's series of impressive soundtracks and scores, following acclaimed albums Les Revenants (The Returned) and Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait. Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite says: "The Atomicsoundtrack is one of the most intense and fulfilling projects we've taken on as a band. Ever since we went to Hiroshima to play and visited the peace park this has been a subject very close to us. The end results, both the film score and the record are pieces I'm extremely proud of." 22.00 | Learn more Myakka ""s/t" Tape Tallahasse's take on some raw d-beat. First song gets rolling and quickly has this break for some dark church bell chimes in the background. I like how the main guitar sound is burly and distorted, but has enough tone and clearness to it - it's not just a wash of noise. The last track starts off with a sludgy progression and a variation of how the vocal are recorded (or said?) - it's make them more immediate. I think some of the subtle changes here from the formulaic d-beat is very well done. 5.00 | Learn more Radiohead "A Moon Shaped Pool" 2xLP This may not be Radiohead’s most experimental album, but it is without a doubt their most sonically pleasing, elegant, and acoustically immaculate offering to date. The ninth full length from these British stalwarts. 24.50 | Learn more Sete Star Sept / Godstomper split LP East/West Bass + Drums Test, right? Two bands from two different halves of the planet, both with the same premise: that bass and drums is all you need to make a fuckin racket. Sete Star Sept are the world's most beloved, talked about, well-traveled, well-acknowledged noisecore band....like...ever. They are touring Vietnam, Cambodia, and Nepal, where has your noisecore band been lately? They are on a worldwide mission to be "the most shit band" and this is yet another respectable step towards that goal. Piss raw grindcore/noisecore like you already know and love and have seen live a few times. Godstomper are god damn legends. Brutal and heavy fast hardcore, elements of power violence and grind at play, yeah the recordings are great, but live is really where this band excels. An absolute mess, a total chaos, pure energy and charisma....very few bands in this world able to create such an expression. Truly magnificent and so very special. 12.50 | Learn more Worsen "Living Hell" Tape Some merciless punk to blister your entrails and let you rot like a sack of meat you are. Wørsen, from Jacksonville, Florida, now have a new live tape gathering all that’s putrid and vile in lo-fi violence. Stream it below, then buy the thing and collapse. 6.00 | Learn more Other recent additions to the online store!
