  1. Haha, I guess I shoulda seen that coming from Mr. Sincere! I'm glad you dig the record, and I actually still have some cool old/rare stuff still sitting around and every time I sell stuff at a Fest or a show I always throw in something cool in there. There was a girl from Europe who bought one of those RSD LPs and she was so fucking stoked, it was great. Almost every time when we dig up something scarce it ends up in the right hands and people are super grateful. With the one exception of our friend ******* up there, but I digress...One of these days I need to find a Charlie in the Choco Factory-style kid worthy of giving all this shit and test pressings to. That stuff is taking up space!
  2. Yeah, there was a couple of real good songs on the second EP. They were showing some real promise and the band was getting interest from real labels and a good manager, but they kinda opted out. Great kids too.
  3. We usually don't release info about that kinda stuff because it just encourages flipping and collector BS. I will say that the info put forth in this thread is NOT correct! More fun with riddles! Whenever people ask for info on pressing or manufacturing details I just comment on the the most important part; the music. Something, "The record sure is great!" And in the case of "Chamberlain Waits", it's especially true. Hope that helps!
  4. Oh, NOW you wanna be discreet about this, huh?! Now that you've shown your ass, of course. I'm telling you right here and now, send the records back and I will give you a full refund and more. Either that, or shut the fuck up and realize that you got great records for the price. You got a record worth four times what you paid for it and you had the nerve to fucking complain about it all over the internet? You want a tweet? Here goes... @SpoiledDipshit You got a great deal and you know it, Glad you took part in the sale. Enjoy! You are seriously THE person that people at labels/distros/stores complain about when it comes to putting out music. The "Umm, excuse me thir, where's my sthtapler" brat who think this whole fucking scene and economy revolves around you. People ask me all the time why we don't do more shit with vinyl and YOU are the exact reason. Whiners who want more variants, die-cut bullshit, and complain about the MAILERS. Seriously, your beef is with the fucking mailers?! It's cold out and people are starving around the world, go outside and put on a blanket in someone for Crissakes. The mailers are perfectly fine and you and I both know that your records showed up in perfect condition, so get fucked. Send the records back.
  5. Wait, you've been posting all over this board and tweeting to high hell about how you've been wronged by our mailers and now you DON'T want a fucking refund?! What DO you want? Seriously, send that shit back and I'll pay you in full and throw in some more money. I know you won't because you and I both know what you got was worth more than what you paid. So you're welcome. Just a heads up, because I assume that you're young and live with your folks or something, but your mailorder was NOT, and I quote, "appalling". I would trade anything to have your problems. You sorta exemplify the worst elements of record flippers/collectors: you feel entitled to everything and somehow think that buying a couple 7"s is a contribution to this community that allows you to voice your know-nothing, do-nothing opinion. It's not. Now put your money where your mouth is and return those records you're so unhappy with.
  6. I mean they did a WHOLE RECORD of power-pop covers...who does that?! How much more could you want?! Actually, I know the Cheats some more covers, so... you win!
  7. Ha, yeah, I don't see myself responding to nagging tweets about shipping. I mean, you saw the charges before you checked out, you proceeded with the purchase... you want me to get in a twitter convo with you about that? I got other shit to do. Tell ya what, I'll make good on this. You send back the records and I'll give you a full refund and cover your shipping, first class, media mail, priority, whatever. Sorry the whole Easter Egg thing went over your head and you decide to nitpick about a couple bucks. Everyone had a ton of fun with it and got great stuff for super cheap. As did you, but like the worst kind of record collector, you'd rather tweet at me about your audit of the quality of the mailer. I'm not interested in those kind of interactions, sorry.
  8. Ha, that's awesome. Totes bonding moment with mom. I'm gonna copy your post and message it to Dan. That was actually the whole purpose of that record: to bring some of that old power-pop to light and try and garner interest from the next generation. We should make more of those, that thing has been outta stock for years now!
  9. Sorry dude, we don't make shit off mailorder and we got burned big time in the middle of a big release when USPS upped their rates, so we've had to raise prices to compensate. All labels have. I should mention that it's STILL cheaper to order from us than Interpunk or Amazon, and again, we're not making a buncha money off this shit. If you want records to show up at your door in 2014, you have to pay for it. As for the envelope, those are actually NOT cheap or flimsy, Fat Wreck also uses them and we've never had a complaint. I know vinyl collectors are finicky about stuff, but I don't care to spend time dealing with complaints about perfectly good mailers. We do the best we can and that's all we can do.
  10. I was driving a rental truck to my new distro in Malden(?) and I got a Marriott hotel for like $40 like 20 minutes away. It was in a mall complex and the Newbury was in a strip mall too. I bought a bunch of shit and they were super nice, I liked it.
  11. I don't think anyone has ever done one of those! We need to get more like No Idea and do a variant for each pressing. I guess we'd have to put out records people would want first...
  12. I went to Newbury Comics for the first time last November and I was pretty stoked about it!
  13. Yeah, I can vouch for the seller, but not the descriptions! Also, I definitely know the Orange has sold for $300 at some point. And they were never an exclusive at Hot Topic, just that some orange copies were part of the first pressing. Red Scare has never done a HT exclusive, actually.
  14. I mentioned this a while ago, but I have a pal who is parting with some pretty cool Red Scare vinyl stuff. There's the TBR "Total" on white which was the first pressing back in 2005. The Falcon "Unicornography" on orange, which was from the first pressing in 2006. Menzingers RSD, some sealed records, etc. Check it out: http://www.ebay.com/sch/maroonoski/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
  15. We actually hid 2 copies of "Hold On, Dodge" in our sale, but she has a 7" too. There's some neat stuff in there. The Falcon on orange, TBR's "Total" that was first pressing and on white from 2005, etc.
  16. Ahoy comrades, we did a fun little sale this weekend for "Small Business Saturday" or whatever, and we hid some cool items in our webstore: http://redscare.storenvy.com/ Some neat vinyl that has been unavailable for a while. In related news, I moved down the hall and unearthed some pretty cool stuff that's been outta stock for a while. I'm giving to a friend who's been working/helping Red Scare and I reckon she's gonna sell some stuff off. Keep your eyes pealed for that. I'll try and remind folks when it goes online. Should I direct her to eBay or Discogs?
  17. I'm starting to get that question more and more: do your CDs come with a download code? I guess it's better than the usual: "what variants are there?"
  18. Ah, THAT Tony. Had I known...heh. Guess I'll see you at Fest again? Stoked you like the tunes!
  19. I got AP in the Red Scare fantasy league, so we have that in common. I guess I got your kicker too? Can't stomach the Wild, eh? And no one seems to really back the T-Wolves cuz their owner is a homophobic kook. And you guys just traded Morneau too! Times are tough all over...
  20. Understood, but it was more directed to the gentleman from Seattle. You're from the Cackalackies though, so it's a showdown this week, eh?
  21. Yeah, word. It's fantastic album, and I wouldn't wanna wanna wait either. I'm of the opinion that music is more important than collectibles, so we try and rush the tunes out to the world. Go Seahawks...
  22. Hey folks, I wanted to try and disseminate some info on the LP since social media is full of collector zombies asking about this shit over and over. What better place to address that than here?! I don't wanna steal the project's thunder, but the band wants to do something really wild with their LP and it'll be taking a while to manufacture. Blame them! No, but really, it'll be super cool and especially appropriate to have around the Holidays. What can I say, DH! loves Jesus. So the vinyl package is coming, but as you guys know, that shit takes forever to make. If it's the music you're after, that of course is available now on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc. The CD comes out next week and has some cool artwork of it's own (poster booklet!). In case you haven't heard, the band is doing a short film to accompany "Brainless God". It's pretty rad and "Act One" was just premiered by our greazy pals over at Vice/Noisey. Check it out: http://noisey.vice.com/blog/premiere-watch-act-one-of-direct-hits-punk-rock-opera Hope that answers some questions and gets you guys stoked on this pig. It's a kickass record.
  23. Hey pals, we're doing the 7" release party tonight at Township in Chicago, so hopefully we'll see some of you at the show, but for those of you interested in this sweet split, you can also order it here: http://cirecords.storenvy.com/products/1452075-carousel-kings-reaganomics-split-7-limited
  24. Huh, that's the first I ever heard of this. It sounds groovy according to everyone, so these new ones should be safe.
  25. These will be for sale through the Red Scare store too...
