  1. I would give up a ton for Oswalt. A proven ace thats under your control for the next 2.5 years? Yes plz.

He's had some major back/injury issues though. Even still I'm with you. I'd love for him to be the ace for the Doyers. Then the staff goes from "okay" to top-end. Especially given how Bills has turned around.

  2. Doesn't count. But you had some room to argue with Crawford who won a Cup but is a pretty bad coach.

so wait, it doesnt matter what a coach does the rest of his coaching career if he's won the cup, he'll still be a better coach than any other coach who hasnt?

No but that's not what I'm saying either. In this specific case I do not see the coaches being that far apart so I'm using the Cup as the differentiator. That said, I think the coaches are even. I don't feel either is measurably better than the other.

  3. One has won a Cup and one hasn't so I think that speaks to who is better.

laviolette has missed the playoffs 4 years out of the 7 years he's been a coach before this year. quenneville missed the playoffs only twice in 14 years... sure maybe he didnt win a cup, but year after year he could take a team to the playoffs, he did it for years in st louis... st louis!! laviolette is a good coach, but quenneville is better, in my opinion.

St Louis had really good teams when the Mustache coached there.

    Cup > Playoffs

  4. You're overreacting.

    How?

If they play like this against Boston they will get beat...badly.

They have no idea how to beat the zone defense.

With 3 7-footers they should dominate inside and they arent.

Well first off, there's another team out there with decided advantages. Nash is an amazing player and Amar'e when motivated is good. Phoenix is deeper. So, the Lakers weren't guaranteed a damn thing.

Secondly, they'll figure out how to bust the zone. It'll be Kobe driving and kicking and Pau asserting himself. Pau needs to stop being a ninny.

Further, Bynum is hurt. He needs surgery. He's too slow to defend the Suns right now so he's just not going to be affective. That's all there is to it.

And lastly, Odom needs to play better moreso than anyone else. Fisher is what he is and has always been, a good PG for a triangle. He's not going to bust a zone like Deron Williams, Rondo, or Paul.

If the Lakers lose it'll be because Phoenix exploited their biggest weaknesses not because the Lakers played badly. Two teams play every game.

And frankly, Nash getting a ring would be nice. I'd hate it to be at the expense of the Lakers though.

  5. I still dont think the Suns have a shot at winning this series cause I really dont think they can beat the Lakers in LA BUT it wont matter if the Lakers make it to the Finals cause they keep playing like this they are going to get fucked up by Boston.

Seriously, how fucking hard is it to beat a zone defense in the NBA?

I could see if the T-Wolves or Nets were struggling with it but this is the goddamn defending champs here. I love Fisher but he needs to do a hell of a lot more to break down this zone. Put Brown in the game since he is the only PG who can drive the ball and see what happens. I guarantee that zone collapses real quick.

Also, it should not be that fucking hard to get a bounce pass in to Gasol. He should be dominating inside with Bynum. Bynum hasnt done a goddamn thing this whole series.

Im hoping the Lakers pick up Bosh, its sad that they even need him tho.

    You're overreacting.

  6. The Lakers better figure out this zone shit quick or they're getting an earlier vacation than they bargained for.

That all said, Dear Mr. Stern fix your fucking officiating, its a damn joke. The best in the world need to be better. Call a fucking travel once in a while. How many steps did Dragic get to make his "amazing" play? 4? 5?

  7. Bowed out of this thread because I frankly didn't give a shit about the playoffs this season. I watched the majority of the games, however. No sport compares to playoff hockey.

I must say, hats of to Philly.

    I've eaten my words.

In regards to them, everyone has.

  8. I don't like the "if you have nothing to hide, what's the problem?" argument.

Haha seriously. You don't have to be posting pictures of yourself mainlining heroin to not want an employer or potential employer to see your profile.

But that's not my stance at all. My stance is, if you want privacy don't join social networking. The whole premise of them is exposing who you are as a person so people with similiar interests and backgrounds can find you. If you're a private person or worried about privacy you've got bigger demons out there to worry about than Facebook. Ones you don't even need to join to caught up with.

And frankly, you shouldn't post anything you don't want people to find on the internet. That's just not smart.

  9. Looks like the Dodger pitching staff may be coming around. Not sure what to make of Ely in so far as how consistent he can be but he does throw strikes. And for a fourth starter that's all you want, really. Kershaw has looked outstanding in his last 3 starts and Bills has been much, much better. Kuroda is as he always has been. I'm not so down as I was earlier though I'm still bitter this whole divorce thing has put the Dodgers in the position they're in right now. They should have a much better team.

  10. I don't like becoming fans of things because the owners of those pages can see all of your information.

I did not know this. time to remove some stuff.

What information would you put on your Facebook page that could compromise who you are? I'm willing to bet if people found out my name they could get my birthday and address pretty easily. I'm not too sure why people freak out about privacy on Facebook.

If anyone really wants to keep things private drop your Foursquare account, drop your Facebook account, stop telling people where you are, what you're eating, when you're leaving, and what you do for a living. Don't post personal pictures of yourself or of other people.

There's a ton of things you can do to sustain your privacy but being on a social network actively is NOT one of them.

  11. I just want something that I can pay for the channels I actually watch. Fox Sports Midwest, Food Network and Discovery Channel. The other 97 channels in my subscription I could give a shit about and I have to pay $60 a month to watch 3 channels...

I think that's a bit farther off given the control cable and satellite companies seem to have.

  12. I want something that does that AND can connect to my network and stream the tv/movies I have on my hard drive.

I'm not sure why companies continue to get the set-top box deal wrong. But Google and Apple both have.

For me at least, it needs to the ability to rent, buy, stream, and store movies/video and music. It needs to plug-in to my TV and record shows. It needs to be able to push that recorded content to an external hard drive.

I'd love integration in to a Netflix-type service and apps but neither of those things matter as much.

  13. Travis- I was saying that Orlando IS a good team. Someone was trying to claim they are not top-tier (probably a drunk Boston fan :) )

Actually, I was the one saying and still believe Orlando is not a top tier team. If Orlando plays the best they can, they couldn't beat the Lakers if the Lake Show did the same. And its become obvious the same is true of Orlando v. Boston. However, I never said they were a bad team. Just not in the upper echelon of the NBA as it currently stands.
