"It's a Vinyl World After All" DVD
funkydrummer replied to xxmartinxx's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
This dvd along his other dvd on turntable setup are both awesome and essential viewing for anyone that is into vinyl. -
I am going to Austin and Dallas this week to see propagandhi and I was hoping someone could recommend some cool record stores in the area.

Anyone have exp. w/ record cleaning machines?
funkydrummer replied to burntwolf's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Yes cleaning machines make a huge difference, you will freak out the first time you hear it. The only records they won’t make silent are ones that have groove damage. I own the kab ev1 http://www.kabusa.com/ev1.htm it's cheaper version of the nitty gritty ($159) in which you have to supply your own vacuum. The manual scrubbing and turning isn't that bad, I use a spare turntable to apply the fluid. As far as fully automatic machines I would go for one of the VPI's but they start at $500 -
a-side plays fine, b-side doesn't! what do i do!
funkydrummer replied to j4m35's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
It sounds to me like its warped ( I have a few records that are like that just on one side) and your neighbor probably has a better cartridge so it is able to track the record better. -
I use this http://www.kabusa.com/ev1.htm It's cheap compared to the other cleaning machines and it completely gets rid of the ticks and pops.

PO: PROPAGANDHI "Supporting Caste" dbl LP
funkydrummer replied to a topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
The download link was posted today. While I am tempted to go ahead and listen to it, Im gonna wait so I can listen to it on vinyl for the first time. -
My list includes all of the records that I am proud of. I have a hundred or so more that are not my list, these include junkers, duplicates and bands that I do not like.
