  1. I'm pretty interested in this. The teaser has a bit of the new Turnover sound to it.
  2. New single and 7" from Run Forever: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2015/05/run_forever_rel.html Waster is releasing their debut EP, Skrwd, on NSR: http://blog.nosleeprecords.com/post/120110731461/waster-join-no-sleep-records-announce-skrwd
  3. ^Sorry dude, I am not a drummer otherwise I would love to help you out. I think that kit you found is a pretty good deal. The maple shells are good. Sabian symbols are kinda "meh" (words from my drummer), but I certainly don't think you can go wrong with that kit.
  4. That is strange. It's a nice gatefold. One of the ends is actually capped off. The inside has the lyrics.
  5. Got my bundle in today. Here are pics of the half n' half variant. The gatefold is super nice.
  6. Uh oh. I have not received the email from MerchNow, but I am supposed to get my package tomorrow. Sorry to you all, but I am a devout Silverstein fan and if I get the half and half variant that I ordered, I will not be able to let go of it.
  7. VICTOR SHORESSSS. Very cool dudes. Played with them last week and saw them on Friday. Highly, highly recommend.
  8. Sounds like they came up short in that color, whatever the pressing number was supposed to be.
  9. I hear those pre-CBS Bassmans are the "best" ones, but I really wanted the master volume. Plus, the silverface panel is so sexy. @piky Thanks, man! Took me awhile to find a 2x12, surprisingly.
  10. ^Nice man. I have always had a thing for white Les Pauls. I completely upgraded my rig last week. Meet my 1979 Fender Bassman 100. Yeah the cab is a Peavey, but I loaded it with Vintage 30's and this thing rocks. It's a closed-back prototype JSX cab. Part of me wants to drill a port into it because it's a little too punchy for my taste. Also I should get a new Fender logo in the mail this week. I recorded a rough Into it. Over it. cover through a Blue Yeti without any effects except some reverb in post-pro. I'm recording new Familiar Theme songs with it on Thursday. So excited. The tone is just https://soundcloud.com/familiartheme/no-amount-of-sound-cover-fender-bassman-100-demo Now someone buy my Peavey Valveking 212 and the JSX speakers from me, please.
  11. Looming signed to NSR! Their debut album, Nailbiter comes out August 14th. Check out a new song here: http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2015/05/looming_sign_to.html
  12. @rynflnnry Burn him at the stake. How dare anyone find a connection in a series of words and interpret those words in such a fashion that doesn't reflect the author's true intent!!! @parkinglot That's fine, you don't have to interpret them that way. I certainly wouldn't have either. I see where you are coming from, but to flat-out say that someone can't interpret art the way they want to is pretty messed up. He never once says that Shoppers or the lyrics are racist. He says the lyrics are reflective of a racial stereotype in America. That is his interpretation. On top of that, he admits to being disconnected from the true intent behind the lyrics. insectpins posted the whole explanation but here is part of it: "All that however derailed me from looking more into the song the line is from, which is about an abusive relationship. Abuse happens in punk communities and needs to be talked about and for me to co-opt a line about that feels shitty regardless of my intent."
  13. That's merely part of the interpretation. It's out of context, so keep the line out of context. Reading the words sparked some thoughts in his head. In his explanation behind the quote, I don't read his words as any sort of an attack on Shoppers. Darkness isn't some new ideology in music and literature. Authors consistently use "darkness" to describe something evil. Black people are literally dark skinned. Plenty of people believe that black people are inherently bad and a hindrance to America. In this day an age where racism has fully integrated itself into society's norms, to the point where we have ingrained racism, I have no issue with Chris's interpretation of the line. I will definitely agree that he does say some pretty whacky stuff on the LP.
  14. It was his interpretation of the line. That is how he made that connection. I don't see what the fuss is about. People take lines from songs out of context all the time and get them tattooed, tweet them, update Facebook statuses with them, wear them on t-shirts, etc... Analysis and interpretation is basically the foundation of literature, and increasingly, music. Yes, the curtains could literally just be blue. But they could also represent the author's depression, preventing him from being able to experience true happiness. Which is more enticing? If that's an issue, then stop reading and listening.
  15. I completely forgot that I emailed him about that... figured he was sold out of them.
  16. I'd salvage the electronics and hardware and burn it for the guy. It would be a favor.
  17. The misprint is not even that cool. Like sweet, you have half an EP on vinyl. I'm surprised NSR even kept those.
  18. Rise said they were sending out the records earlyyyyyyyyy, C'MON RISE. I NEED THIS.
  19. You still got a pretty rare copy of a record, I don't think it's that big of a deal. I was going to order one of these packages, but now I feel dumb for not.
  20. Oh shit my bad, yeah they did number 2013's. I forgot my 2013 sub copy of Resist is numbered.
  21. @hoosierbrad They didn't number 2012 or 2013 sub copies. In 2014 they did, and in earlier years, I think in 2010 and 2011. This year they aren't numbering them either.
