  1.

At least its more in line with what their past double LP versions have cost.  I'm curious to see if that version will be 45rpm like the double LPs of CTS and the Hunter...

EDIT: SRC has this same version listed for the same price now, too, though their website is being janky today.

  2. I'll check my opinion on the debate at the door; however, I came across a timely article this morning I thought I would throw into the discussion:

    http://arstechnica.com/business/2014/05/nations-largest-vinyl-record-pressing-plant-is-expanding/

The TL;DR is that Untitled Records is expanding their number of presses (which are currently running 24 hrs a day, 6 days a week) by over 50% (30 current presses, adding 16 additional).

Same! Listened to both last night with my girls and it was awesome, they had so much fun dancing and singing along. They are quiet, and there is an occasional pop (definitely not terrible though, only noticed it a handful of times), but it didn't matter. Probably the most fun we've had listening to records. Imagine that, the records weren't perfect but we were still able to enjoy them :) haha

My sentiments exactly.  My wife and daughters loved listening to them, and we had alot of fun together.  Until I can get them jazzed about raging to Opeth, Mastodon, and the volta (might be waiting awhile for that haha), these are a good alternative for family record time.

  3. As soon as I'm able to talk about them I will post that info here. There's definitely more being worked on right now though...

That's all I needed to hear.  Excited to see what you have in store for us.  I talked with the manager of the Northeast Mall location in Hurst(whose store didn't get their alotment due to closing for remodel in case anyone is wondering) and he mentioned he has known you for a long time. small world.  Thanks for keeping us in the loop man.

the most obvious imo would be 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Aladdin'.

I totally agree with this.  Given the two that were already pressed, these make the most sense to me.

  4. {Favorite album} Cheshire Cat (bought this album in 1994 when they were "Blink")

{Favorite song} Carousel (this is the first song I ever heard by the band and I was immediately hooked)

{Favorite variant} Self Titled on Pink & White Swirl (my son has it in his collection and it is rather nice)

For the record (pardon the pun), this is just a participation post. I'm not entering.

You might be the coolest dad ever. Just throwing that out there..

  5. Actually, those numbers are a bit lower than I was initially expecting.  I hadn't Popsike'd it, yet, but had full intentions to.  I'm going to be considering those two auctions as price-points for future negotiations.  That white /50 for $150 must have been a total fluke on Discogs.

It should also be noted that of those two auctions, the most recent was march of 2012... just a thought.

  6. A friend of mine hung out with them when they came to college station recently and has kept in contact with Matty since.  I badgered her until she agreed to bring up the possibility of pressing one or more of their records at some point in the near future.... This reminded me that I need to find out if she ever made good on that promise.  Will get back to you guys when she gets back to me.  Probably not going anywhere given how much of a long shot it is, but I had to try.  These albums are too good to remain unpressed.
