  1. Gotta say, Jameis is looking phenomenal throwing today, at this point, the only questions are mental.
  2. Excessive celebration is a penalty, and it penalized in accordance with the rules (By the way, horrible comparison). Filming other team's defensive signals for nearly 10 years was apparently also against the rules and penalized as the league saw fit. Just because you don't think something is or isn't cheating doesn't make it that way. The Patriots were penalized for their actions, they were found guilty. It's really a moot point now.
  3. Beyond the whole integrity problem with cheating, you gotta remember that you're a Patriots fan. Teams that have had success are the ones that garner the biggest "hater" following. The Jags could have cheated every game for the last 20 years and no one really cares because they've never been winners. Take it from a Cowboys fan, people will always have hate in the NFL. We get it from everywhere haha.
  4. I say "guilty of" because regardless of how you want to spin it, they were guilty. It's really that simple. Just because you don't like the way people react to it, that doesn't mean they weren't cheating. However, I never said that their success over the last 10 years is due to cheating. As I've said before, even if it is found out that deflategate was 100% the Patriots cheating, that wasn't the deciding factor in the game, and I don't think that anyone really believes that it was. Honestly, I think your loyalty to the team is keeping you from looking at it objectively. Even after the fact they they were found guilty of filming other teams you try to make it seem minuscule and ridiculous that they are called out for it. And I don't even really care about the spygate stuff at all, just wanted to point out that your "trying to fight judgment, with judgement" is a little ironic.
  5. Over and over again would insinuate this has happened a lot of times, even though this is one of the few times where that is potentially the case. Did they cheat this time? No one knew for certain when the news broke, or even now for that matter, so the discussion was certainly valid. honestly, I am not really all that interested in discussing it until the findings are revealed, otherwise it's really just a bunch of people blowing hot air one way or the other, you were the one to bring it back up. And I'm not dwelling on spygate, I simply stated that it was something they were guilty of.
  6. Yeah, I am a little confused about the "hot garbage" he is referring to. The only negatively connotated thing that comes to mind about the pats is spygate, which they were guilty of. At this point no one knows if the patriots are guilty of tampering with the balls, so I don't really see how that makes anyone a moron for discussing it.
  7. On their site there are a couple different helmets for a few teams, I like the Giants helmet on the site better. Also, the only one I don't really like is the Bengals because I'm not a fan of that old logo, I prefer the stripes haha.
  8. Trans yellow is /1200, however it could be months before they're released. To my knowledge it is entirely up to the label at this point (assuming it's been requested at this time).
  9. They've had the yellow since around October, but they are not allowed to sell them because the label doesn't know about them and they are not supposed to exist. Basically, they were pressed without the label's knowledge. They will be able to sell them as soon as the records are given the green light by the record label.
  10. Every time i've seen something like this it has meant one of two things.1. They "promoted" Tom Clements and bumped his pay in order keep him from hitting the market, or to retain him. You'd be surprised what a nice new title can do. Or 2. They were worried about potentially losing Edgar Bennett. They want to promote him, increase his pay and responsibility, but don't necessarily want to fire Clements. A perfect example of this is in Dallas with Kiffin and Marinelli. They promoted Kiffin to assistent head coach, basically relieving him of his duties without firing him (they wanted to keep him around because they like him, though he doesn't have much responsibility or say as to what goes on) in order to get the guy they really wanted calling the shots, Marinelli, in position.
  11. So what you're saying is as long as they get Lynch back, their offense is fine haha. Those receivers are entirely replaceable. Wilson will get paid, as all good QBs do but that's not a concern till next year. The problem is see is that they have a lot of quality LBs and defensive linemen's contracts going up next year. Gotta sign Wagner, Wilson, Lynch all to big contracts. That Harven dead money is a sore spot as well, luckily that is only for one year.
  12. Yeah I thought it was something in that ballpark, I remember when I first saw it thinking Okay, so basically he signed a 14M deal until they decide they've found the next guy haha. There is almost no way he is seeing most of that, he'd have to play lights out. Dallas signed Henry Melton to a similar deal this past off season, it was something like 30M for 3 years, first year was around 5-6M and the rest is guaranteed if he is on the roster in April-ish? Basically, he is not going to be a Cowboy next year unless the deal is completely restructured.
  13. Yeah I think his guaranteed money was something like 16M, which is insanely low for a 100M deal. That was why I said earlier that getting the 100M deal isn't saying a lot, gotta look into guaranteed money, bonuses, etc.
  14. Some of them aren't so much young as they just had longer rookie deals. I think most of the guys I mentioned played through a 4 - 6 year rookie deal. If they came into the league at lets say 22-24 that would make them 26-30 signing their second contract.
  15. Well, back before the rookie signing wages agreement a lot of first round QB's would get between 30M-60M 5-6 year rookie deals. Since that no longer happens, it's basically a standardized 3-4 year deal with a 5th year option.
  16. Matt Ryan, the year his rookie contract went up he extended 5 years 103M Rodgers, at the end of rookie contract signed 5 year $110M extension Flacco, after rookie contract and winning superbowl same year 6 years $120M extension. Peyton Manning, Following rookie contract in 2003 signed 7 year 98M extension (Big money for 2004) Kaepernick, signed $114M 6 year extension. Dalton, 96M 6 year extension 2 years before rookie contract ended. Eli Manning, signed 97,5M extension in 2009 following rookie contract. It's basically the new norm for big name players since late 2000's (gotta think about inflation).. Most players don't see more than two contracts. If guys like Roethlisberger and Rivers were a little younger and were just coming off their rookie contracts right now they'd get the 100M deals as well.
  17. You just said it yourself. Just because you don't think the guys are great doesn't mean the teams don't believe they can build around these guys.
  18. A franchise QB is a QB that the organization has confidence in leading their team for the foreseeable future. You're idea of a franchise QB is an elite QB imo. There are a lot more than 5 franchise QB's in the league. Otherwise, you'd see a lot more turnover. Current solidified Franchise QBs imo are (no particular order) Rodgers Manning Brady Luck Romo Brees Roethlisberger WIlson Flacco Rivers Stafford Ryan Newton Kappernick (Team thinks he is) Dalton is by himself, if you're better than he is, you're a franchise QB, if you're worse, you probably aren't. These are guys on the cusp, could be losing their team's confidence or gaining it Foles (We will see what the organization thinks in the draft) Palmer (If not for injuries and age, he'd be up there) Manning (obviously Eli) Cutler (He's on a short leash with a new coach imo) Tannehill (Not too bad) Alex Smith (He is more of a serviceable player) Bradford (I don't think the organization has given up on him yet) All of this past season's starting rookies, too young to determine.
  19. Wow. So much stupid. But what the hell is up with the identification??? "The 42-year-old "Dancing with the Stars" alum was booked just a few minutes ago." You'd think HoF DT would outweigh Dancing with the stars... Lmao.
  20. Wilson is 100% a franchise QB, but he is not an elite QB. There is a huge difference there. He has potential to grow into one though.
  21. I can definitely see him getting at least a $100M contract next year. Really, a 100M contract doesn't say a lot, what you have to look at is guaranteed money any bonus and the amount of years. The market for franchise QB's is always climbing, also, the fact that the cap is going up this year will only bring the prices up. There are only so many legitimate franchise QBs in the league. Wilson is a Franchise QB, one play at the end of the SB is not going to damage his stock.
  22. Apparently it's been reported the contract they're offering would have him slated to make $10M next year, which is pretty insane with the declining RB value. But, it could be a heavily front loaded contract so when it comes to resigning Wilson and other who are still on their rookie contract there will be space. I'm interested to see the rest of that contract. I don't really think any RB in the league is worth more than 7M a year, with most of the starters being around 4M imo. I wouldn't want Dallas to resign Demarco for anything over 5M a year, and that's only if they can restructure Romo's contract (and of course the grossly over payed CB Carr).
  23. The contact on that hit was insane. You'd think by the way Lockett got laid out that the DB was aiming for him, but he was just playing the ball. Great play.
  24. There is certainly an argument there for both. On one hand, regardless of the call, you expect your guys to execute the play that is called to the best of their abilities. Wilson did not there. However, there is certainly something to be said for putting that moment, on that spot of the field, into the hands of your weakest combination of offensive attack (QB, WR). Wilson has played great his first few years in the league, and if he keeps up the growth he could become one of the greats, however, at this point he is little more than a great game manager and they have one of the more underwhelming receiving corps in the league. Their running game is literally the best in the league, and they have arguably the best RB in the league. You gotta make a call to your team's strength in that situation, thus it can certainly be regarded as a poor play call. Of course all of that is easy to say it in retrospect, but at the same time 2 yards? Lynch is a no-brainer.
