I can't speak for everyone, but I think it's perfectly acceptable to check out an album and voice a lukewarm (or even negative) opinion on it. The people shitting on the music without bothering to give it at least one comb-through? – not sure why they're in the thread, you're right. But I still think it's a lot more interesting than everyone rehashing the same praise and quoting one another with one blanket opinion.

That's totally fair. And just to be clear I wasn't trying to like call you out specifically. More people on earlier pages. I do enjoy the actual discussion of the album and comparing it to earlier work, even if it is negatively received. I more meant that it seems like a lot of the people being negative never even listened to the album and just dislike the artist as a whole. So what are they really adding? Nothing but negativity. I feel like it's just shity for the people who do like the artist/the actual album being discussed, because it distracts from the actual conversation for people to defend themselves.

I honestly don't get why people feel like they need to come on to the release thread for an artist they don't like, just to talk about how they don't like them and why the artist is bad. Like if you don't like Kanye West, fair enough. Not everyone's cup of tea. But why the hell are you here complaining about him??? Do people on here just get off on making people feel bad about the artists they like? Do people just hate the artist that much? 

 

I think that's a big part of the negative attitude on this site is just people going on releases from artists they don't like, not even listening to the album/project, but still complaining about how bad the artist is. Like why is that necessary. 

I don't like all his stuff, but there a bunch of songs I enjoy. If you like FML, go listen to Low Life by Future fearing The Weeknd.

I don't mind that song. I like The Weeknd's part and the production, but it just sounds like Future is mumbling his way through the song. There are some Future songs I like, but I just think the majority sound the exact same.

Who's voice pisses you off?

Like Future and that type. The rappers that kinda just mumble their way through the songs. Maybe piss me off isn't the right word. But it's annoying. 

Doesn't he literally use the follower / swallower rhyme on Yeezus, too? I legitimately do not understand why everyone praises him as a lyricist. His production skills are definitely adequate, but the hype this guy generates is vastly unwarranted as a whole. Sorry.

To be fair he generally isn't praised as a lyricist. He's praised as a producer. Personally I think he's got some good lyrics, and I think lots of MBDTF showed that, but generally his lyrics are subpar. I listen to Kanye because his production is generally way better than most other rappers. And I way prefer a song that I enjoy sonically than one I prefer for the lyrics. 

 

Plus his voice doesn't piss me off, unlike all these new rappers that are getting big.

Alright I bought one. Was hard to justify paying 50 CAD for a record that I should be able to eventually get for 25-30 at my store, but getting a signed copy would be dope. Been making good money from usertesting anyways, so didn't have to touch my bank account. 

I'll buy a copy of this once it goes up on vinyl-digital. Only website I actually trust for boots, plus there's a couple others I've been meaning to pick up.

I mean I'm sure vinyl digital will do a pressing of this if Kanye's team doesn't. But god I really want a proper pressing.

I think it's back to having no name now, cause he changed it again. And god I hope so. The first couple single designs are very similar to the MBDTF design but with black instead of red. I would loveeeee a pressing just like MBDTF with a bunch of interchangeable artworks. Also he has the album split up into three different acts, so I could see it getting the same 3xlp treatment.

Sarcasm asside I saw the other Justin Bieber thread got a surprising amount of posts, so maybe a few of you will actually be interested in this. Even though most of you won't and will just get pissed that these are taking up valuable pressing plants.

That's still the cheapest I've seen on eBay for the STN MTN vinyl, especially for the blue/yellow version, last week someone was selling for 55 plus shipping.

Received mine on Friday from Vinyl Digital after a 4 week wait. Paid 27 shipped for it. The prices are good but that shipping time leaves much to be desired.

Is Amazon getting exclusive colours a common thing? Never heard of that.

Only thing that sometimes makes me feel better about vinyl-digital is how cheap they generally are. Which reflects the quality. As least you're not paying a ton for garbage quality.
