Did this officially die?
-
Yeah, I just got a cancellation notice for Owen Pallet's Heartland. Everything else is supposed to ship mid August.
Womp womp.
-
I have all of the mislabeled ones except Forbidden Love EP I'll sell to anyone who needs them. Shoot me a PM.

Catch's version of Keasbey! Finally don't have to pay out the butt for it!

Gotta say, I love the score. If you go in and expect it to be in any way similar to traditional EITS you're going to be let down. It's a lot more minimalistic than their Friday Night Lights score too and at times you wouldn't even think its EITS.
I think of it this way...Prince Avalanche : EITS as The BQE : Sufjan Stevens. Both albums are nothing like the usual output from each, but they're both excellent albums.

Private First Class is excellent. I think I'm more excited for the full band album than the acoustic one.
-
There's a studio version on their iTunes Sessions that just came out.
-
Nickel Creek - "Why Should The Fire Die"
Owen Pallet - "Heartland"
Purity Ring - "Shrines"
Shipped for $33 and change. All three that I've been delaying picking up, excellent.

I just watched it and I feel like I need a day to think about it too. The use of color in that film was phenomenal though.
Last time I felt like this about a movie was The Master and I decided I really didn't like it.
I decided it was definitely a good watch. The story is very simplistic and it almost forces you to focus on the visuals and the score, which are phenomenal. If you like Refn's other films like Drive I'd suggest it.

So awesome.

I allowed "Only God Forgives" to soak in for 24 hours and I'm still not completely sure how to rate it. Aesthetically, it's 4 stars.

But he did direct The Spirit. And that movie sucked hard.
I can usually at least mildly enjoy comic-book-related movies, but this one was just god awful. Even with nazi ScarJo.

this reminded me, i needed to order one of those. thanks!

NPR's All Songs Considered

Take Back The Night hasn't grabbed me yet, but neither did Suit & Tie when that first came out.

Got mine in Buffalo. Spinning Photo Album and it sounds good, haven't compared it to the other yet.

I'm with you. I have yet to be able to get that glue off of my covers.
Mine came right off, keep scrubbing, haha.

Saw Pacific Rim in IMAX yesterday. The scale of everything was pretty damn awesome, especially when you actually find yourself looking up at the giant robots and stuff. There was a little more cheese than I expected in it, but definitely a solid popcorn movie.

I'm a big believer in the idea of staying away from all magarines. Even though some of them say no trans fats on the label, there is a lot of misdirection in the labeling. I go with the natural product vs the laboratory created one (butter).
I'll consider the other suggestions though. Thanks.
Good call. I usually do too, but that's the only time I really use it, just to give a light coat so the seasoning can stick to something other than just ending up at the bottom of the bowl haha.

Been working really hard to nit pick up the salt shaker this week.
We all tend to make bad substitutions when dieting. You might give up sugar and eat too much red meat. Or you go low fat and put salt on everything.
Probably still going to be over the daily recommendation on sodium from what is buried in the food I eat but not adding anymore. Eating stove popped popcorn with black pepper and paprika at the moment. Not as good as with some salt, but its what I'm going for and I think I'll get used to it.
You know what's awesome on air pop popcorn? Garlic pepper. Spray with a light coat of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter or something similar, sprinkle some of the garlic pepper on, profit.

Listening now...so hard not to be dancing around the house at the same time.

Oh man. I will do awful things for any version of that Spirited Away print. I'm curious what the non-variant version looks like.
EDIT: Apparently the non-variant version will be in English. Also, here's what the Howl's Moving Castle one looks like: http://www.moss.fm/post/55086352051/i-worked-with-studio-ghibli-and-mondo-to-create
