Solved: For some reason something you guys said kicked it loose. I was trying to think of The Stills - Logic Will Break Your Heart. Also, upon looking it up on Amazon I had the black background and busy pattern, but was totally off otherwise in it's visual description.

You guys are awesome for trying to help me out. Not Wallflowers. Album cover is busier pattern than that (plus I know that album by heart). It wasn't Artic Monkeys or soul wax.

National airplay, not a local act. There was one single that got a good amount of play on Indie stations, but fuck me if I can remember it.

That's not it. The cover didn't have anything else on it except for the dark background and yellow star/light pattern (if I remember it right). Thank you though!

I am drawing a blank and it's driving me crazy. Early 2000's. Interpol-ish or Shins-ish band. The album cover was dark with yellow lights, or some kind of pattern in yellow like stars on the cover. It's very little to go on... but maybe it'll ring some bells.

That is good to know about Chambers. I found an article on top "date night" restaurants in SF and that was at the top of the list. I'll cross that one off and look into your other suggestions.
