  1. I just ordered a new pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50 head phones. I read quite a few reviews on these before buying them, and found out that these, and other head phones, need "burning in". Which I guess just means some hours of playing time before they sound their best. So, anyway, I read in another review, that a guy had downloaded a few hours of "pink noise", and played it through the M50's while he went out, to burn them in. Does anyone know where I can download anything like this? Or another good way of burning them in? I could just listen to music to do the job, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to pump something through them for a bit while i'm out of the house.

  2. Thanks for all the info everyone. Grados, those things are everywhere. After researching a bunch of headphones, I think I hear more good things about them, than any. But, Closed, no outside noise cans are really what I need. So, i'm still debating between the Audio-Technica ATH-M50, and the Ultrasone HFI-580.

  3. Thanks impact. That review is really good on the ATH-M50. But he says that they lack some aggressiveness for rock. But, thats coming from someone reviewing headphones, so hes probably just spoiled on expensive cans. Are they nice and sealed? I'll probably end up getting these, they are very affordable. I've heard good things about ultrasone HFI-580's too. but they're a little more expensive. I'm not gonna get all audiophile, I just want some headphones that sound really good.

  4. Heyoo. I'm all moved in and checked everything out. My arm doesn't have any counter weight controls on the back. And I don't know where to look for the ant-skating. Also, the turntable is an Audio-Technica AT-PL50. Definitely not the best. I'll be buying a new one as soon as I can, but I'd really like to fix this one so i'm not with out records for a while.

  5. Last night I was playing a record. The needle dropped onto it, and as it started towards the grooves, it just slid across the record. I tried playing it a couple more times, and it did the same thing. I didn't know why it was doing this, but I thought about it for a second, and realized it could be because the needle was just worn out enough that it wasn't catching the grooves, thus sliding across the record. Is this my problem? I've had to replace worn out needles lots of times before, but this has never happened.
