  1. This will be my 11th Punk Rock Bowling...my favorite time of year! I've bowled, and while it's fun, you miss out on day shows, which can kind of suck. It's quite a different beast opposed to what it was back in the day. I've found that I enjoy the day shows and the late night shows best, and find myself spending less time at the actual big show as the years go by. Downtown Las Vegas is crawling with awesome people and we always meet new folks every year out. I've been staying at The D for the past few years(Used to be Called Fitzgeralds) and I love it there.

If ya'll have any questions, I'll be happy to help out, I'm an old vet. Hope to meet some of y'all there!

  2. I ordered a day before this thread was posted and only received 6/28 records. But finally getting around to listening to the records I just opened my copy of Western Addiction's Cognicide and low and behold it is on yellow. That makes me feel much better considering the one I tried winning on eBay went for $104.

I also scored the yellow copy of western addiction, and the orange red /300 copy of No Trigger - Tycoon.

  3. Avoid the Discwasher brush, even for new records. I have ruined a few rare records back in the day with one of those, when I started collecting in the 90s. Fortunately, I was able to replace them.

You have to use a vaccum powered record cleaning machine. Even new records benefit from an initial cleaning right out of the wrapper. They remove the "mold releasing compound" that keeps the record from sticking to the stamper.

You do have to make sure you are using a good velvet covered tube though.

I have not tried the Spin Clean unit yet, I have heard some good things.

Don't use the wood side on the records. That will ruin them every time.

I've had mine since the late 80's which was new old stock of the original walnut handled system of the 70's and I've never had a problem. By the 90's discwasher manufacturing had already changed hands a couple times and significant changes had already been made.

  4. Don't know why anyone would ever commit to blindly purchasing 14, or even 7, releases from a "label" that just licenses random albums.

    This.

Plus, all 14 releases are 'in production' yet they won't disclose the titles. Pretty scary considering the spectrum of releases being sold. I guess they're just trying to cash in on the subscription trend.

  5. I picked out 10 of my favorite listens from 2013. I'm sure there are others, but it's hard to keep track of release dates.

-Charles Bradley - Victim of Love

-Sammy Kay and the East Los 3 - Love Letters
