- As some of you know, my wife and I are separated. I went to pick my daughter up from her new school and she was showing me the board where all the kids have pics of their families. Hers was just her, her mom, and her brother. No dad. I don't have any real desire to get back together with my wife, but being stricken from the record is major sucky. I have to think it's not good for my daughter, either.

- Further complicating the marriage thing: an old friend for whom I've had feelings and vice versa recently reconnected with me after a few years of not speaking. She sent me a message on Facebook and we've hung out a few times, but she lives in Chicago and is leaving tomorrow. I didn't do anything physical with her because I'm still married, even though it's all but dead at this point. It's just shitty as hell, because we've been really into each other for over a decade and the timing is always fucked.

Reinstalling the drivers is a good start.

So, the soundcard on my laptop is fucked up. But I don't think it's totally gone, because I was running something through Audacity and it was playing through the speakers, but it didn't actually record anything. So it's kinda picking up sound and kinda not. It's really pissing me off that I can't watch videos online or do half the things that bring joy to my life and require a sound card. I can't imagine what I've done to fuck it up. It's definitely not a setting, because I've gone through all of the preferences and settings. Am I missing a codec or something? PLEASE HELP!!!

I have used just about every drug available in the United States. I can tell you it's not worth the hell you could go through because of it. I don't remember 2003, for example. That's not something I'll ever get back. So be careful.

This is my story, except 2005 as the blackout year. I want to add that dabbling is all well and good but opiates are not something to fuck with. I certainly have had a problem with more drugs, but heroin was the first thing that really wrapped me up and I got to junkie from vicodin in about six months. I know a lot of people with a similar experience. It doesn't take an extended period of use--between two weeks and a couple months--to become physically addicted to opiates. So yeah, be careful. Also, acid > mushrooms.
