Tl;dr - looking for suggestions on a "warmer" sounding amp that will bring my hifi chain up to even levels.

Okay, so heres the deal. I have a uturn TT w/ a grado blue stylus&cart, acrylic platter, and cork mat running to my kenwood kvr 6080 receiver with audioquest evergreen cords. I got some half-a-step above basic OFC 14g speaker cables running into klipsch refference speakers (the 5 1/4" bookshelves, the dual 6 1/2" floorstandings, and the 5 1/4" dual center).

Its easy to see the stand out piece of the chain is the receiver, but when i begin looking into possible options i get a bit lost. I dont want something thats new but ends up being not much better, otherwise id just keep my vintage receiver.

I recently installed a marantz nr 1604 in my friends house, with the full setup of klipsch reference speakers on a project debut carbon and even after setting up the audessey microphone EQ, his setup sounds much to bright for my liking even with a 600w powered subwoofer in the mix. Im aware that a surround sound system is not by anymeans a "hi fi" system, but i dont want to plunge 700 into an amp and set it up just to dislike the sound.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a nice amp that wont break the bank? I prefer a warmer, bassier sound, but still want some highs to sing out of these horn tweeters.. Added plus if it has a phono option, as i dont own a preamp yet, but could easily pick one up if need be.

Tetsuodaironman, cart and stylus or just cart? I got a grado blue cart/stylus still in decent shape.over months of.play, but for that price id totally pick up a spare if its got a stylus too.

That was my thought was to run a sub to speaker b but i cant run 5 channel center, floor standings, and bookshelves with speaker b. Bummer :\

So ive had this receiver for about a year now, with a full set of klipsch reference speakers. The only thing is, ive been told by the guy i got the receiver from that i can use a subwoofer with it, and ive seen someone using this receiver online with a subwoofer, but i see no way of hooking one up to it.

Im sorry, but where is your logic on this? Project carbon dc espirit comes with a speed box, acrylic, and a BRAND NEW cart/stylus for 600. So you justify selling this for 600 cause your throwing a average stylus in the pack as a "bundle"?

Hey, quickly posting on here before i decide if its goin up on ebay. I have for sale the ivy league s/t test press, 3/10. Bought it directly from the label when i purchased it, its in great shape. I just ran into a financial brick wall recently and im selling off some of my collection. Pm me with any questions, no low ballers please. Wellll, i know you said you dont care about variant, but i have a Gold on white smash that is allegedly a tour press, there is no info online that ive been able to find and there is a thread here on VC where someone from RFC says that they've never seen the color sold online.

Vancouver's going to be hard to find for a "cheap" price, your just gonna have to sumble upon one lower then the rest you've seen and bite the bullet.

I have for sale the Harms way s/t test press. This is a 1 sided 7" hand numbered out of 20 with a hand drawn cover by the band (done quite poorly in sharpie, might I add.)
After buying the record at one of the various booth's at TIHC this year I took it to the bands merch table to confirm that this wasn't something that someone drew up and sold as a test press, and it is infact genuine.

The TIHC has "TIH" in massive silver over covering the album art. They made 30,10 pink and 20 clear. ideally if you weren't there in the first 5 minutes it was sold out.

I picked up a /30 this is hardcore exclusive of angel dusts new 12", which officially released this weekend, for a friend finding out he already had it pre ordered. So I turn to the good people of VC to see if it will gain interest before it goes to ebay. The TIHC variants were pink/10 and clear/20, mine being the pink. I'm not asking a whole lot but I know that this was sold out in 2 minutes and will be incredibly rare but id rather have someone else enjoy playing it then gather dust. If interested I can throw a unplayed Xtra Raw ep by.angel dust in with it for a little more. Thanks for looking!
