  1. probably has something to do with riot fest posting this photo on facebook:

    10307178_10152204769918737_5115924521842

but it also said: "This isn't a line up hint, it's just a cool picture of a 16 year old Sid Vicious going to a David Bowie concert in 1973. Everybody just relax."

the rumors are getting out of hand. everyone just need to calm down.

Awww gotcha.  Wouldn't it be more realistic to start a rumor that the Sex Pistols are playing?

I know they posted they had one more "big" announcement for Toronto and the Chicago and Denver line-ups were getting announced today.  That's probably why the rumors are getting dumb.

That being said it would be pretty awesome if David Bowie did play.  But I'm pretty sure he said he's not doing any kind of touring because he wants to be with his family.

  2. beside the lineups coming out next week, riot fest also said they have another big surprise for Toronto. I assume that means, there's a big headliner playing all three that they couldn't announce until this week.

I heard there's another batch of bands that they're still going to announce as well.

  3. I try to follow along with the NLL.  I go to as many Toronto Rock games as I can every season.  I actually know a couple of guys who play/played in the NLL.  They are all super nice dudes, which is hilarious because you wouldn't think it if you only saw them play.

  4. Billy Talent have two triple platinum records, one double platinum record and one gold record in Canada. Metric have two platinum records and a gold record in Canada. City & Colour have one platinum record in Canada, too. So yeah, I'd say "massive" is accurate for those three artists.

EDIT: Both Stars and DFA79 have one gold record a piece in Canada, too. musiccanada.com is a great resource!

Billy Talent headlines the Sound Academy in Toronto when they play here now.  Bands that headline Sound Academy are by no means MASSIVE.

To put that in perspective, Steel Panther are headlining a show there.  I would not call them MASSIVE.

About 10 years ago BT were MASSIVE up here, but as someone who lives in the GTA I can assure you people don't really give a shit about them anymore.

  5. Well, keep in mind five of the bands billed above them are Canadian, and three of those five are MASSIVE in Canada (Metric, City & Colour, Billy Talent) with the other two being nothing to sneeze at either (Stars, DFA79).

I think they're severely overweighting the value of Die Antwoord on that poster, though.

Metric aren't "massive" up here.  Billy Talent aren't as big as they used to be either.
